B'KATE Brow Dip review

- This post contains gifted products and affiliate links. -

Hi guys! I've recently had the chance to try out the new B'KATE Brow Dip and I can't wait to tell you all about it.

B'KATE Brow Dip
B'KATE Brow Dip

B'KATE is a Dutch brand created by international Brow Artist Marlies Gregorius. They specialise in high quality, vegan, cruelty-free and gluten-free eyebrow cosmetics. Their Brow Dip is designed to help you to create a natural brow or to build up the colour for a more defined look.

The Brow Dip comes in a range of eight shades including Blonde, Ash Blonde, Soft Brown, Golden Brown, Brunette, Deep Brown, Ash Brown and Smokey Black. I have the shade Ash Brown which is a cooler toned dark brown.

You have likely seen similar products from the likes of Benefit with their extensive eyebrow range and Anastasia Beverly Hills with their own solid brow range.

B'KATE's Brow Dip is long-lasting eyebrow product due to the cream powder formula that sticks to the areas with little to no hair with ease, and if applied with the B'KATE Angled Eyebrow Brush you can create the perfect eyebrow for you.

Everlasting Brows Highlighter and Concealer Duo review

- This post contains gifted products and affiliate links. -

Hi guys! If you're a long time follower of the blog, then you will likely know that I love a good multitasking product. That's why today, I am excited to share another one with you: the Everlasting Brows Highlighter and Concealer Duo

Everlasting Brows Highlighter and Concealer Duo
Everlasting Brows Highlighter and Concealer Duo

The Highlighter and Concealer Duo is a double ended pencil that on one side contains a creamy concealer and the other side contains a golden shimmer highlighter. The concealer comes in two shades (light and medium), but the highlighter is the same on both shades.

The concealer can be used as a corrector and concealer, useful for imperfections, under the eyes and around the eyebrows to tidy. The highlighter is perfect for use under the eyebrows, cheek bones, the inner eye area and cupids bow above your top lip.

The pencil itself is a mint green in colour with clear, plastic lids on either end to cover the concealer and highlighter. It's quite a thick, chunky pencil, around the size of similar products from other brands (such as Benefit's High Brow).

Avon Power Stay 16 Hour Shadow Stick review and swatches

- This post contains affiliate links. -

Hey guys! Today I’m going to be reviewing an Avon product that has just been released. Avon is a brand that actually features in the majority of my most popular posts here on the blog! In my last post I mentioned that I’d be reviewing the eyeshadow that I was wearing in the photos, but other than that I didn’t explain much as I thought I'd save it all for today.

Avon Power Stay 16 Hour Shadow Stick
Avon Power Stay 16 Hour Shadow Stick

The Avon Power Stay 16 Hour Shadow Stick is an eyeshadow stick and eyeliner in one. It promises a creamy, vibrant, waterproof formula that lasts all day. It is described as being easy to apply and blend, yet not transfer or crease during wear. At the time of writing, it has been launched with a range of 6 shades. The shade I have to show you all today is Everyday Beige which is a shimmery beige with blue undertones (and I'm sure I spy some very subtle blue shimmer amongst the silver shimmer).

The eyeshadow comes packaged in a sleek, black pen with a lid and the product info in gold lettering. At the base you can see the shade colour, but inside there is also a hidden sharpener to sharpen the stick if you wish.

So let's jump right into it!

Yazmae Cosmetics Luxury 3D Mink False Eyelashes review

- This post contains gifted products and affiliate links. -

Hey guys! It's been a little while since I reviewed some false lashes, but today I will be sharing two pairs of false eyelashes with you from the brand Yazmae Cosmetics.

Yazmae Cosmetics Luxury 3D Mink Lashes in Dubai and London
Yazmae Cosmetics Luxury 3D Mink Lashes in Dubai and London

Yazmae Cosmetics provide a range of luxury, false mink and silk lashes, Eyelash Serum for lengthening the lashes (review coming soon!) and lash glue. They also offer a generous makeup artist discount of 65%.

I have two pairs of Yazmae Cosmetics luxury 3D mink lashes to show you from their collection in the styles London and Dubai. Each of the pairs comes with adhesive in the box and they can be re-used up to 20 times.

Upon first glance, both the London and Dubai lashes do look quite similar. They are both big, wispy and fluffy, 3D and have black bands, but London has more of an extreme criss-cross and they are more feathery whereas the Dubai lashes have less of an intense criss-cross and are more spiky whilst still being fluttery.

They come packaged in your standard lash case with the lashes attached to the plastic and then the case is covered by a sleeve on one side that contains the brand name.

I’ll begin by talking about things that relate to both sets of lashes, then I’ll split off and discuss each pair individually with some before and after photos of how they look. Before applying them, I applied some eyeshadow (I’ll be reviewing said eyeshadow for my next post - keep your eyes peeled!) and a simple line of liquid eyeliner on the top of the lid and black pencil liner on the waterlines. No wings or bold lines, just liner on the lid to disguise the band and the waterline to create the appearance of a thicker lash base. For contrast, I also took some photos without any eyeliner.

Skinny Tan Face range reviews

- This post contains gifted products and affiliate links. -

Hi guys! A few posts back I wrote about the Skinny Tan Coconut Tanning Water Mist and Dual Tanning Mitt and today I’m going to be writing about a whole range of complimentary products from the Skinny Tan Face range.

Skinny Tan Gradual Tan Daily Moisturiser, 2in1 Overnight Tan & Hydrating Mask, Moisturising Tanning Drops, Daily Superglow Highlighting Serum and Semi-Permanent Contour Serum

Skinny Tan Gradual Tan Daily Moisturiser, 2in1 Overnight Tan & Hydrating Mask, Moisturising Tanning Drops, Daily Superglow Highlighting Serum and Semi-Permanent Contour Serum

In this post we will be looking at the Skinny Tan Gradual Tan Daily Moisturiser, 2in1 Overnight Tan & Hydrating Mask, Moisturising Tanning Drops, Daily Superglow Highlighting Serum and Semi-Permanent Contour Serum.

Each of the products work together to give you a natural looking, streak-free tan on the face that also sculpts the face.

The Gradual Tan Daily Moisturiser and the 2in1 Overnight Tan & Hydrating Mask are both gradual tanners (or tan extenders). The Moisturising Tanning Drops contain a concentrated tanning product that can be added to your regular moisturiser and you can decide on the shade level yourself.

The Daily Superglow Highlighting Serum and Semi-Permanent Contour Serum are sculpting, highlight and contour products. The Contour Serum is effectively a semi-permanent bronzer for a contoured face without makeup.

All of the products in the Face range contain Aloe Vera and Guarana as well as the signature Skinny Tan scent of caramel and coconut. They promise that all products are fast drying and non-sticky. On top of that, they are sulphate and paraben free with no skin drying chemicals and they are vegan/vegetarian friendly.

Heading into Summer with more Femme Luxe

- Advert. Contains gifted products and affiliate links. -

Hey guys! Apologies for the long delay in posting again. If you follow me on Twitter you may have seen that I’ve had a lot of family things to sort out and help with and such. Nothing bad, but just very time consuming! I’m back today though with another Femme Luxe post which is a fashion based post such as my previous two for the company.

In my previous two Femme Luxe posts I wrote about matching makeup looks to go with the outfits, but thanks to the glorious weather we had last week here in the UK when these photos were taken I wasn’t able to get out to use some nice locations because of the horrible and constant rain.

So unlike my previous Femme Luxe posts I haven’t done matching makeup looks for the same reason as why I haven’t been able to use a variety of locations, but I’m still going to have a chat about what makeup I used at the end. I have used a couple of new lipsticks that I recently acquired so I’ll have a chat about those, but one of them will be featuring in its own post so definitely have a read on for a sneak peek!

If you don’t know about Femme Luxe, they are an online fashion brand based in the UK that designs clothes for women.

They have lots of different styles to suit different people’s fashion tastes so you can usually find something that takes your fancy. For this post, the 4 products that I chose are a button-down denim dress, a snake print loungewear set, an oversized jumper shirt dress and paper bag waist houndstooth print trousers. Each have very different vibes and I thought they would be a nice variety to share with you all today!

Let's jump into the clothes!

Femme Luxe Clothing & Makeup Looks

- Advert. Contains gifted products and affiliate links. -

Hey guys! I recently wrote a post featuring some outfits from Femme Luxe and you guys seemed to enjoy it, so today I am back with another!

As I did with my previous post, to keep it beauty related I will be discussing the makeup I used to compliment each outfit so that you can get some makeup inspiration. Femme Luxe allowed me to pick out 4 products to review for you again, so that’s what I’m here with today.

For this post I chose another lounge wear set, leggings, a crop t-shirt and a knitted jumper

If you’d like to read a bit more about my general thoughts of Femme Luxe and for some info about them, do check out my previous post where I discussed the brand in more detail.

Femme Luxe Outfit reviews

- Advert. Contains gifted products and affiliate links. -

Hey guys! So this week I’m hitting you up with something COMPLETELY different, but I hope that you enjoy it!

I was recently contacted by Femme Luxe and was offered the choice of 4 outfits to order and review for you all today, and having never done a fashion based post before I thought it would be a fab idea to switch it up for one post whilst keeping some beauty related twist to it.

Admittedly I love shopping online. For me it can be the big crowds that deter me in store along with the fact that I am so much more willing to throw my money at everything if I shop in person and then not be as keen on my choices later (it’s primarily the second reason). Online stores though can obviously come with a risk. You read so many horror stories about not getting the product you thought you were ordering or at the quality you’re led to believe (I’ve been there too), so trying out a new store may be a bit of a deterrent. That shouldn’t be the case though as there are some amazing online stores out there to check out, and - spoiler alert - Femme Luxe is one of them.

They describe themselves as being a "current, classy and forward thinking online fashion brand".

I chose some jumpers, a loungewear set and a jacket

So how am I going to keep this fashion based post related to beauty? Well, with each outfit I thought about a complimentary beauty feature to go alongside them, so as I talk about each outfit I’m also going to talk a bit about the makeup look and what I chose to compliment each product I’m reviewing.

I hope that you enjoy the switch up this week as much as I have! Let’s jump on in.

Avon True Nourishing Lip Oil review

Hey guys! I know how much you all love Avon posts here on the blog. They’re consistently my most popular posts, especially lip product related ones. So I’m back today with a post about the new Avon lip release: the Avon True Nourishing Lip Oil.

It comes in two shades; Blossom/a pink tint and Shimmering Pearl/subtle shimmer. I have the shade blossom to show you today.

It comes packaged in a clear, plastic bottle with a plastic rose gold coloured screw cap lid that has a wand applicator inside. It holds 7ml of oil. The bottle then comes in a copper-rose gold coloured box.

NYX HD Finishing Powder Pressed and Loose review

Hey guys! Today I’m going to talk about a product that I’ve wanted to post about for a while. It’s for those who are looking for that flawless finish to our makeup that not only reduces pore size and helps our makeup to last longer, but that also looks like real life photoshop or an in person filter. Yep, that’s right. We’re looking at HD Powder again today!

NYX HD Finishing Powder
NYX HD Finishing Powder

I’m going to be discussing the NYX HD Finishing Powder in both pressed and loose form. They’re the exact same powder, but just packaged in different ways. As you’d expect, the loose and pressed versions do apply differently, so I’m going to go into the differences as well as pros and cons of each throughout this post.

The NYX HD Finishing Powder is a lightweight powder that is designed to finish your look by minimising the appearance of pores and fine lines whilst also providing a matte, filtered looking finish. It is available in three shades; white/transparent, banana and green. I have both the loose and pressed in the shade white/transparent, but I will be talking a bit about the differences between how they apply to the other shades in this post.

The loose powder comes packaged in a transparent plastic pot with a black screw cap lid. The inside has a layer of plastic with holes in to help to control the amount of powder that is dispensed at a time. The pressed version comes packaged in a sleek, black, plastic compact with a transparent section on top to see the powder through.

The packaging can get pretty scratched up over time with frequent use as can be seen on my loose powder pot.

theBalm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick review

Hi guys! I know I write a lot about lipsticks, but I also know that you guys love reading about them as much as I love writing about them. Therefore, I’m here today with another lipstick post for your reading pleasure!

theBalm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Dedicated
theBalm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Dedicated

theBalm Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick has a pretty self-explanatory name. It is a matte-finish, long-wearing lipstick comes in a range of 18 shades and promises to stay true without being clingy.

The shades range from nude shades to deep purples. There is quite a mix of vivid and muted shades, but no bolder shades such as blues or greens can be found here. I’ve got the shade Dedicated which is a dark, pink-purple berry shade.

Each lipstick comes packaged in a transparent, plastic tube with the typical retro style branding of theBalm on the outside. Thanks to the transparency, you can easily see the shade of the formula inside as well as how much is left. They have a silver screw cap lid with a fluffy wand applicator inside.

Avon True Luminous Velvet Lipstick review and swatches

Hey guys! So as I promised in my previous post featuring the Avon mark. 2-in-1 Lip Tattoo, I’m here with a second Avon lipstick post this week, and trust me, it’s a good one.

Avon True Luminous Velvet Lipstick
Avon True Luminous Velvet Lipstick

The Avon True Luminous Velvet Lipstick range is a twist on their original Avon True Perfectly Matte Lipstick and Delicate Matte ranges. The formula is soft matte, but with a shimmer that makes them look like velvet on the lips. Avon played around with the idea of metallic matte lipsticks with their mark. Liquid Lip Lacquer Matte Shimmer range, but for this launch it’s all about the metallic matte lip.

The range comes with 15 shades on launch and each of them promise to apply easily with no dragging, never feather or bleed and sit comfortably on the lips. Avon didn't have samples of every shade available, so sadly I only have 9 of them to show you. If I can get hold of the others, I will be sure to swatch them for you all too.

They come packaged in a matte black, rounded rectangular tube with a rose gold band around it with the Avon logo.

I recently featured a couple of other metallic matte lipsticks on the blog, so if that’s your thing, you can check out my post on the Green People Instant Lip Definer.

Avon mark. 2-in-1 Lip Tattoo Lip Line and Fill Duo review and swatches

Hey guys! I know how much you all love the Avon lipstick posts so today I am bringing the first of two in one week! That’s right! I’ll be featuring two new ranges, starting with one from the Avon mark. brand.

Avon mark. 2-in-1 Lip Tattoo
Avon mark. 2-in-1 Lip Tattoo

Today I shall be reviewing the new Avon mark. 2-in-1 Lip Tattoo lip line and fill duo. It’s a double sided lip stain pen that has a thin end to use as a lip liner and a thicker end to fill lips with the lip stain.

The lip stain range promises all day wear that lasts as long as you do. Avon also suggest that they will be good for blending to create ombré lip looks.

It comes in a range of 8 shades, but today I only have the one to show you in the shade Make Me Up.

It comes packaged in a thin, black felt tip pen casing with a cap on each end for the pen nibs. It has a little bit more weight than you’d expect, but it’s not heavy to told.

Green People Instant Definition Lip Crayon review and swatches

Matte, metallic lipsticks seem to be having a bit of a thing at the moment. Some are loving it, some are hating it. Personally, I’m loving it, so I already have a few. Today I shall be showing you a couple of metallic matte lipsticks from a natural beauty brand that I’ve spoken about on the blog before.

Green People Instant Definition Lip Crayons in Blossom (top) and Sangria (bottom)
Green People Instant Definition Lip Crayons in Blossom (top) and Sangria (bottom)

Green People may be better known for their natural skin and hair products, but they do also have a makeup line. Part of their lip range is the Green People Instant Definition Lip Crayon, a natural, mineral lipstick that comes in pencil crayon form. There is a range of three metallic matte shades and all are suitable for eczema prone skin and sufferers of psoriasis. All Green People products are free from a whole array of ingredients, including SLS, SLES, parabens and propylene glycol.

The shade range is small, but today I have two of the three colours of the Instant Definition Lip Crayon to show you. Blossom is a soft, metallic matte blossom pink, and Sangria is a metallic matte, dark, copper red. They’re not actually advertised as being matte shades, but when you apply them (especially if you blot them) then they are nice, soft mattes.

Each shade comes in a shiny, black, chunky pencil form with a black cap to match. The end of the pencil shows the shade.

ESQIDO Gel Eyeliner Pencil reviews

*
Hey guys! So a few weeks back I reviewed some beautiful lashes and lash glue by ESQIDO, and today I will be looking at their new launch and perfect accompaniment to their lash range: the new ESQIDO Gel Eyeliner Pencils.

ESQIDO Gel Eyeliner Pencils in Black and Brown
ESQIDO Gel Eyeliner Pencils in Black and Brown

I spoke a bit about the brand ESQIDO itself in my previous post featuring their Mink False Lashes, so if you'd like to know more about them I will direct you towards that post.

These liners are designed to have all the benefits of a gel eyeliner in a retractable pencil form and they come in two shades (black and brown), are packed full of pigment, apply in one bold line with a matte finish, are waterproof, promise all day wear and are 5-free (no parabens, sulfates, formaldehyde, phthalates and fragrance) and latex-free, so they’re suitable for sensitive eyes.

The pencils are twist based, so you twist the bottom to reveal more. However, they also come with a small sharpener hidden in the bottom of the pencil so that you can keep the point sharp for thin lines as well as thick. The pencil also has an airtight ring seal band around it to keep an airtight seal around the lid.

They come in the sleek white and gold packaging that other products in the ESQIDO line also come in, so they look and feel of luxury and high quality.

KAGA Gel Nail Polish, All Ranges Reviews and Comparisons - featuring KAGA, Love Easy, QLZ and BMG ranges

*
Hey guys! So it’s been a little while since I’ve done a nail polish review, but not to worry. Nail polish fans rejoice, as I’ve got a post reviewing 4 different ranges of gel nail polish for you! Hurrah!

KAGA is a professional gel nail polish brand that provides high quality gel nail polish and other supplies that professionals need for creating top quality gel nail polish manicures. They provide 4 different ranges that have slightly different formulas and come in at different price points. All of the ranges require the use of a UV light for curing.

These ranges are:

  • KAGA - a lightweight gel polish. UV or LED cured. Comes in a range of 160+ colours. Comes in a beautifully designed bottle with a butterfly cap. The bottle shows the colour of the polish inside, and it comes with 12ml of product.
  • Love Easy - a thicker gel polish that requires less coats. Non-shrinking and odourless. Comes in a range of 140+ colours with 24 glitter shades. Comes in a red bottle with a gold cap that has a sticker indicating the shade contained inside. Each bottle holds 15ml of product.
  • QLZ - a lightweight gel polish. Can be used for full colour or stamping and is non-shrinking. Once cured, allows the nail to breathe and has no sticky residue. Comes in a range of 150+ colours with 24 glitter shades. Each bottle is the colour of the contents inside and holds 7.5ml of product.
  • BMG - a thicker gel polish that requires less coats for coverage. Very cost effective and is non-shrinking and odourless. Every bottle is black in colour and holds 7.5ml of product inside. There is a little sticker on the bottle that indicates the shade contained inside.

All ranges are eco-friendly, vegan friendly, scratch resistant, soak off easily, last 14+ days and have a high gloss finish. In regards to curing, the base coat needs 2 minutes, each of the colour coats 2 minutes too, and the top coat needs 2-3 coats which require 2 minutes for the first coat, but then 3 minutes each for the second and third coats.

Today I will be reviewing a couple of shades from each of their ranges, one solid colour and one glitter shade from each. I’m going to review each of the gel nail polishes individually as we go, and then compare them and the ranges in general at the end. The gel base coat and top coat that I have are part of the KAGA range.

To help me with this post I have my sister who tried half of the shades whilst I tried the rest. Both of us wore two shades at a time to create a total of 4 nail looks. We’ve taken photos of each look in three different types of lighting; indoor, outdoor and under camera flash.

Each nail look combines shades from different ranges except for one (so a look may contain a shade from the BMG range and the Love Easy range on different nails), so instead of reviewing each range in order straight away, I’m going to review them a bit mixed at first. I’ll show you each of the looks we created, and review each shade used underneath the pictures. Then, at the end, I will do a summary of each range in a more structured way, taking from points I mention as we go throughout the post. This will also act as a comparison of results between the ranges.

I will also review the base cost and the top coat at the end of the post.

So let’s get into it!

MONU Illuminating Primer review

Summer is here, and incase you haven’t heard, here in the UK at the moment we’re having a bit of a heatwave. It’s amazing, but in regards to makeup it can leave a few issues. A couple of those can be how can we stop makeup from melting off your face, or how to get a nice summer glow. Thankfully, the product I’m reviewing today is here to solve both of those problems.

MONU Illuminating Primer
MONU Illuminating Primer

The MONU Illuminating Primer promises to leave you with smooth, illuminated skin, minimised pores and blurred blemishes. It can be used alone or under makeup to extend the life of your makeup throughout the day.

It contains Mica to create a natural looking glow, Blackcurrant Seed Oil which includes essential fatty acids Omega 3 and Omega 6 to maintain the the skin's barrier function and to regain moisture balance, Vitamin E to soothe and to fight free radicals, Zinc Oxide for sun protection (which is SPF15), Hyaluronic Acid for moisture, Cassia Alata Leaf extract for anti-ageing and on the flip side, it is free of parabens.

It comes in a white and grey pump lid bottle that holds 50ml of product, and also a travel size squeeze tube that holds 30ml (which I picked in a previous Latest in Beauty box). The product itself is a thick, almost mousse-like white cream.

Best Beauty Boxes UK

Beauty boxes. What’s not to love?! You get to try new and amazing beauty products tailored to you from the comfort of your own home, and sometimes you get full-size products as well, saving you tons of money.

Beauty box goodies (psst... if you'd like to see more pictures like this, be sure to follow my Instagram)

The issue nowadays though is that there are so many around, and that can make it difficult to choose the perfect one for you. Some people want to choose just one box, some don’t mind subscribing to a bunch. All of us though want to get the most for our money. Today I wanted to help those of you who are on the hunt for your new favourite beauty box by talking about a few of my personal favourites.

I’ve decided to compile a list of the beauty boxes that I am currently subscribed to, enjoy and therefore recommend to others. There are still beauty boxes out there that I am yet to try and there are new ones appearing all the time, so if you know of one that I’ve not mentioned that you think are worth a recommendation too, please do leave a comment at the end and let everyone know!

For each box, I’ve written the pros and cons so that you can use that to work out which would be the best box for you, and I’ll be showing examples of what products I’ve received from each as well.

All photos featured in this post are from my Instagram feed, so if you like what you see, please do come over and give me a follow for more!

Avon True Colour Delicate Matte Lipstick reviews and swatches

Hey guys! I’ve got a treat for fans of the Avon True Colour Matte Lipstick and matte lipstick fans in general today! Avon are about to drop their new True Colour Delicate Matte shades.

Avon True Colour Delicate Matte Lipstick in Bitten Apple
Avon True Colour Delicate Matte Lipstick in Bitten Apple

So what’s the difference between these and their regular True Colour Matte Lipsticks collection? Well, these shades are stepping away from one of the major points that they drove home with the original release about being "more matte than MAC" and instead are giving us some slightly less matte, soft and sometimes sheer vibes - hence the name "delicate".

It comes in a range of 8 shades which only include one shade that could be classified as dark on a shade scale, so there is a lot of focus on the soft/nude type of colours here and less of the bright and colourful (such as the recent Avon mark. Epic Lipstick range).

They promise a comfortable, glide-on formula, to be long-wearing, and that it will not cake up on or dry out the lips.

Each of the shades are packaged in a traditional style of Avon lipstick packaging. It’s a black, matte, rectangular tube with Avon written on a silver strip around the lid. There is no transparent window at the top with this style though, and the inner tube is silver.
