Hi guys! A few posts back I wrote about the Skinny Tan Coconut Tanning Water Mist and Dual Tanning Mitt and today I’m going to be writing about a whole range of complimentary products from the Skinny Tan Face range.

Skinny Tan Gradual Tan Daily Moisturiser, 2in1 Overnight Tan & Hydrating Mask, Moisturising Tanning Drops, Daily Superglow Highlighting Serum and Semi-Permanent Contour Serum

In this post we will be looking at the Skinny Tan Gradual Tan Daily Moisturiser, 2in1 Overnight Tan & Hydrating Mask, Moisturising Tanning Drops, Daily Superglow Highlighting Serum and Semi-Permanent Contour Serum.

Each of the products work together to give you a natural looking, streak-free tan on the face that also sculpts the face.

The Gradual Tan Daily Moisturiser and the 2in1 Overnight Tan & Hydrating Mask are both gradual tanners (or tan extenders). The Moisturising Tanning Drops contain a concentrated tanning product that can be added to your regular moisturiser and you can decide on the shade level yourself.

The Daily Superglow Highlighting Serum and Semi-Permanent Contour Serum are sculpting, highlight and contour products. The Contour Serum is effectively a semi-permanent bronzer for a contoured face without makeup.

All of the products in the Face range contain Aloe Vera and Guarana as well as the signature Skinny Tan scent of caramel and coconut. They promise that all products are fast drying and non-sticky. On top of that, they are sulphate and paraben free with no skin drying chemicals and they are vegan/vegetarian friendly.

Skinny Tan 2in1 Overnight Tan & Hydrating Mask

The Skinny Tan 2in1 Overnight Tan & Hydrating Mask is an anti-ageing, nighttime gradual tanning product that is designed to help you to wake up with a healthy looking summer glow.

The mask feels really nice and cooling when you first apply it to the skin, but the scent is a warm, coconut-caramel blend that seems to really contrast with the slight cooling, menthol feeling that you get. If you think of caramel scents you may think of something warming, but with cooling sensations you will probably be expecting a peppermint type scent.

As it’s described as being highly moisturising I kind of expected this mask to have a greasy feel to it, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was almost mattifying.

Due to it being a gradual tanner, I didn’t expect a huge difference upon awakening. This was indeed the case, and the results were actually very subtle. Because of this, I would say that it definitely needs to be teamed up with another of the gradual tanners, such as the Gradual Tan Daily Moisturiser or the Moisturising Tanning Drops. This way it will be working overnight as part of a 24 hour routine and you will achieve the results faster.

This mask is also great for when you’ve used any kind of tanner and want it to stay going strong on the face, like a tan extender. It’s subtlety will mean that it will keep your tan lightly topped up rather than making your face go too dark as opposed to the rest of the body.

Skinny Tan Gradual Tan Daily Moisturiser

The Gradual Tan Daily Moisturiser is a day time, anti-ageing gradual tanner that also contains SPF 6. It comes in two shades, light or medium. The shade I have here is medium.

The moisturiser itself is a mid-skintone shade in colour and it almost looks like foundation. The only thing that helps you to distinguish it from such though is the consistency which is pretty runny instead of thicker like a foundation.

When you begin to apply the moisturiser to the skin it actually turns white in colour and almost looks like a thinned out Sudocrem. I like this though as it helps you to see where you’re applying the moisturiser which is very handy as you’re applying a fake tan. It takes a bit of massaging in to the skin for it to absorb and to become transparent but this is also useful as it means that you are blending it out more which will give a better finish. Scent wise it is the same as the Overnight Mask, a warm coconut-caramel blend.

I found that the moisturiser develops better than the Overnight Mask. You begin to notice a difference after just a few hours, but by 6 hours there is already a very clear colour forming. I would say that one application of the moisturiser will give you a light tan, but if you want the medium shade (which I assume you do if you're buying the medium bottle!) then you will need to use it for 2-3 days.

Once you're at your shade of choice it will stay for a few days, but you will need to top it up every couple of days or so to keep it at the same shade depth.

On top of everything else, I find that it does a great job at leaving a nice coverage to the skin to the point where it looks like a tinted moisturiser, meaning that you probably don't need foundation. This is particularly great when teamed up with the Contour Serum and Highlighting Serum (and an eyebrow tint).

Skinny Tan Semi-Permanent Contour Serum

The Skinny Tan Semi-Permanent Contour Serum is a pretty self-explanatory name. It is effectively a semi-permanent bronzer so that you can have a contoured finish without makeup.

You apply it wherever you would to contour and blend it in well.

I thought that this would be really easy to blend, so when I tried it for the first time I decided to use my fingers for application. I felt that I had done a good job, but after developing I realised that I didn’t actually do as good a job at blending as I assumed I had. The second time I used it with my fingers I blended it for a lot longer and it turned out far better.

However, I would recommend using either a makeup sponge or a small tanning mitt to buff out the serum for the most seamless application. This will be a faster way than using your fingers as you need to blend really well, but it may absorb a lot of the serum and you may need to use more product.

Once it has developed though, it’s like having your bronzer on for a couple of days at a time, I found that it needed to be topped up every 2-3 days for the best results, but it definitely saves time in the mornings. Instead of having to make up my whole face I’ve been able to throw on a bit of concealer, blush and mascara and go as I also use an eyebrow tint so my bronzer and eyebrows are done from when I wake up. The gradual tanning moisturiser leaves my skin looking made up already too, so it’s saving tons of time.

Skinny Tan Moisturising Tanning Drops

If the Daily Moisturiser doesn’t sound like it’s up your street, these Skinny Tan Tanning Drops could be for you. Skin can be very problematic, and for some people only certain skincare products will work on your skin. That doesn’t mean that you wouldn’t like to have some form of overnight tanning product or gradual tanner though.

The Tanning Drops allow you to add 1-3 drops into a moisturiser of your own choosing to turn it into a tanning product whilst still being able to use the products that work for your skin. It’s a really versatile product that will work how you need it to at a shade depth that you choose.

1 drop in your moisturiser will help to form a light tan, 2 for a medium and 3 for a deep tan, you could even use it alone.

If you are after a medium-deep tan but would like to get there gradually, you can add a drop to your moisturiser each day to create a gradual tanner too.

I added two drops into my moisturiser and I had a lovely light-medium tan upon waking up. However, you may want to find something to mix your moisturiser into. I used my hand and even though I washed my hands really well after application I still had a big orange circle on my palm for a couple of days afterwards!

Out of all of the products in the Skinny Tan Face range, this is definitely the most versatile product that you can get creative with.

Skinny Tan Daily Superglow Highlighting Serum

The Skinny Tan Highlighting Serum is pretty also self explanatory as far as product names go. This serum is a serum highlighter that works really well on tanned skin as part of their contour and shape products.

It can be used to highlight any areas that you wish on the face or even on areas like the collarbone. Alternatively, it can be used as an all over product to give depth, warmth and glow to the skin.

It’s a copper shaded highlighter that can be used over makeup as well as on bare skin.

As a highlighter I didn’t find it as bright or as glow-y as many others I’ve tried, but that’s kind of what I love about it. It looks more natural on the skin giving you a subtle summer glow rather than a bright and ethereal look. It’s far more casual which makes it great to wear on no makeup days alongside the Contour Serum and Daily Moisturiser

Because of the subtlety to it, I can totally see it working amazingly for an all over glow if you have the right skin type. I avoid products like that all over my face thanks to my oily skin, but for normal or dry skin then this would be a great thing to try out.

I don’t think it would work so well without a tan as it’s a darker shade of highlighter, but if you’re rocking a natural or fake tan then this is a great highlighter for really casual days. This would be great for the beach along with a makeup free face, for example.

For comparison purposes, here are some before and after photos. The after photos are after using the whole range of products (sans the highlighter) and I'm makeup free in both.

Before

After

Overall I really liked all of the products in the Skinny Tan Face range, but I love them each for different reasons.

Originally I thought that I may feel overwhelmed by the varying options here and it did take me some time to test them all properly as I had to wait for each tanning item to fade enough before testing another, but when I got to trying them I liked how they did work together in harmony.

For example, if you are after a quick face tanner then you will do well with the Tanning Drops. You can then use the Contour Serum for a semi-permanent contour. To top it up, the Overnight Tanner and the Daily Moisturiser will work well to extend your finished look, and the Highlighting Serum will add the glow as and when you want it.

If you want to complete a full body look, then I do recommend the Skinny Tan Coconut Tanning Water Mist also.

You can grab all of the Skinny Tan Face products from Skinny Tan.
