Nourish London Ceramide Moisture Boost Essence review

- This post contains gifted products and affiliate links. -

Hey guys! It's a new year and for the first post of the year I will be talking about a new product: the Nourish London Ceramide Moisture Boost Essence.

Nourish London Ceramide Moisture Boost Essence
Nourish London Ceramide Moisture Boost Essence

The Nourish Ceramide Moisture Boost Essence is your first skincare layer following cleansing and toning, before serums and moisturisers. It is designed to add an extra boost of moisture and to soften the skin in preparation for the rest of your routine.

The Boost Essence contains hyaluronic acid, kale sprout extract (a common feature in Nourish Skincare products), probiotic minerals, ceramides, willow bark and trehalose. Together they help to provide nourishment whilst making the skin look radiant and plumped. The addition of willow bark also helps to exfoliate, decongest and balance the skin. It is meant to be particularly good for dehydrated, temperamental hormonal skin.

The Boost Essence comes packaged in a glass bottle that holds 100ml and it has a black flip cap with a small hole in the top to dispense the product. The serum itself is quite watery in consistency which is typical of an essence type product.

Skin + Beyond Supplement Drink review

- This post contains gifted products and affiliate links. -

Hey guys! One of my favourite life tips is as follows: if you perfect the base, the rest will follow. The product that I'll be reviewing today is designed to help with exactly that and it will allow me to delve a little deeper into the meaning behind the advice.

Skin + Beyond
Skin + Beyond

The Skin + Beyond supplement drink is not your regular beauty drink. With the clue being in the name, Skin + Beyond does indeed go beyond helping you to achieve better skin by helping with gut health, bone health, joint health, heart health and sports performance and recovery. It is a 100% natural, all in one drink, providing a blend of patented pomegranate extract, niacinamide and glycine to balance out the gut, increase collagen synthesis and to re-energise the skin cells, overall helping you to achieve smoother and firmer skin. It also includes POMx which acts as a prebiotic and antioxidant. I'll also add the preface here that I am, of course, not a doctor and therefore I shall keep the science side to the professionals and just discuss the product from the perspective of a customer, which I am. For more of the science behind the ingredients in the drink, check out the Skin + Beyond website as it goes pretty in depth and is an interesting read!

So how does this tie in with the advice that I mentioned at the start of the post? Well, the reason that it's my favourite tip is because it can be relevant in a whole range of scenarios. Focusing in more specifically onto the beauty aspect to keep things on topic, it describes perfecting the base because then everything else will just follow along. In this instance, by feeling good on the inside, everything else will follow on the outside. Glowing skin will follow when you look after yourself on the inside. Staying hydrated and drinking supplement drinks such as Skin + Beyond to look after yourself will in turn bring the results that you want on the outside. I actually gave this exact advice in a beauty scenario when contacted by Bondi Sands for a feature that they were working on a few years ago too (and if you'd like to go to a deeper level, I implore you to try attributing it to other aspects of life also!).

Nourish Protect Replenishing Peptide Serum and Antioxidant Multi-Tasking Super Beauty Balm reviews

- This post contains gifted products and affiliate links. -

Hi guys! As we're going into the colder months, a whole array of skincare issues are coming along with that wind, rain and plummeting temperatures. Goodbye summer glow and hello dry skin! Thankfully, today I have a couple of products to share with you all that should help you out with these exact issues - the Nourish Protect Replenishing Peptide Serum and the Nourish Antioxidant Multi-Tasking Super Beauty Balm.

Nourish Protect Replenishing Peptide Serum and Antioxidant Multi-Tasking Super Beauty Balm
Nourish Protect Replenishing Peptide Serum and Antioxidant Multi-Tasking Super Beauty Balm

The Nourish Protect Replenishing Peptide Serum is a Vitamin C serum to hydrate and repair the skin whilst helping to retain that long-lost summer glow. I have reviewed one of the Nourish Peptide Serum's before (the Nourish Radiance Rejuvenating Peptide Serum) and all of their Peptide Serum range does have ingredient similarities with their unique extra benefits. This one in particular contains the range's signature tripeptides for collagen production, hyaluronic acid for that shot of super-hydration and antioxidant Vitamin C derived from lemon, mandarin and orange essential oils to help to protect against free radicals.

The Nourish Antioxidant Multi-Tasking Super Beauty Balm is everything that you could ever need in one. It cleanses the skin, decongests pores, can act as a deeply nourishing face mask and can even be used as an intensive moisturiser. It contains a blend of plant based oils (macadamia, jojoba, coconut, rosehip, kale, sunflower, pumpkin, tea, geranium, borage, ginger, rosemary and sesame) that work together to melt away impurities, refine, nourish, moisturise and also to protect against free radical damage.

As with all other Nourish products, both the Protect Replenishing Peptide Serum and Antioxidant Multi-Tasking Super Beauty Balm are vegan, cruelty free and made with natural, organic ingredients.

Bio Balance Super Serum Hyaluronic 3D review

- This post contains gifted products and affiliate links. -

Hey guys! Today I am back with a post featuring a skin-plumping, anti-ageing, hydrating serum that I've been testing out recently.

Bio Balance Super Serum Hyaluronic 3D
Bio Balance Super Serum Hyaluronic 3D

The Bio Balance Super Serum Hyaluronic 3D is a natural, vegan friendly, youth activating serum that is designed to plump lines, hydrate, improve elasticity and firm the skin. The Bio Balance Super Serum Hyaluronic 3D gets its name from being a multi-molecular hyaluronic acid. It contains three different weights of hyaluronic acid molecules, allowing the serum to absorb deeply into multiple layers of the skin for better hydration.

It is a Pure Global Beauty Awards 2021 finalist and is perfume, silicone, gluten, alcohol, oil and preservative free.

It is part of their range of Super Serums which cover a collection of different skin issues from pore size to discolouration, so if you aren't swayed by the idea of a hyaluronic acid serum but are still interested in the brand, I do recommend checking out the rest in the range to see if you can find something better suited to your needs.

The Hyaluronic 3D Serum comes packaged in an amber tinted glass bottle with a black dropper lid. It holds 30ml of product and the serum itself is a clear, somewhat watery consistency.

Mother's Day Gift Idea: Nourish London Gift Of Sleep - feat. Nourish Sleepy Pillow Mist, Relax Hydrating Peptide Serum and Probiotic Multi-Mineral Anti-Ageing Face Mask reviews

- This post contains gifted products and affiliate links. -

Hey guys! It's been a while and I'd like to start by apologising for that. Life things have been life things and I've needed to put my attention elsewhere. I’m back today though with a special post to share with you all!

Mother's Day Gift - Nourish London Gift of Sleep
Mother's Day Gift - Nourish London Gift of Sleep

Mother’s Day is coming up fast here in the UK (it's this Sunday, March 27th if you've forgotten all about it!), and if you’re left looking for a last minute gift to spoil your mum or if you’re just stumped for ideas, I have a Mother’s Day gift idea for you today courtesy of Nourish Skincare; the Gift of Sleep. The Gift of Sleep is a box set containing three bed time products to gift your mum a pampering evening ritual that helps both her skin and her sleep quality. It features the Nourish Sleepy Pillow Mist, Relax Hydrating Peptide Serum and Probiotic Multi-Mineral Anti-Ageing Face Mask.

The Nourish London Sleepy Pillow Mist contains a relaxing blend of 9 essential oils alongside magnesium-rich Epsom salts. Lavender, Rose, Frankincense, Geranium, Patchouli, Bergamot and Sweet Orange alongside the stress-relieving Epsom salts sprayed on your pillow each evening help you to calm down and relax to fall asleep easier.

The Nourish Relax Hydrating Peptide Serum is designed to hydrate and soothe sensitive skin that is prone to stress and allergens. It contains hyaluronic acid to moisturise and tripeptides to boost collagen production. Additionally, the Relax Hydrating Peptide Serum also contains lavender, bisabolol and ginger to ease irritation.

The Nourish Probiotic Multi-Mineral Anti-Ageing Face Mask is a product that I have reviewed on the blog previously so I won't be reviewing it during this post, but you can see my review of it here

All of the products in the box are alcohol free, cruelty free and 100% vegan.

Nourish is definitely one of my favourite brands right now. I’ve loved every product that I’ve ever tried from them and they’re a lovely company to work with too. Also being a mother, I can confirm that I have loved and appreciated receiving this box set as a gift from Nourish just in time for Mother's Day! Therefore, I am super excited to jump right into this review.

I'm going to discuss each product one by one, starting with the Sleepy Pillow Mist, then the Relax Hydrating Peptide Serum and finally the Probiotic Multi-Mineral Anti-Ageing Face Mask

Somerset Toiletry Co. Naturally European Freesia & Pear Hand Wash review

- This post contains gifted products and affiliate links. -

Hey guys! Over the last year and a half, we've been living through the Coronavirus pandemic. This has meant that we've had to increase our hand washing amongst a wide range of other precautions and, I don't know about you, but my hands have been getting so dry. I've ended up going through a bunch of different hand washes to find one that doesn't make things worse and today I'm going to be reviewing the Naturally European Freesia & Pear Hand Wash by a brand that I originally wrote about in the early days of the blog; Somerset Toiletry Co..

Somerset Toiletry Co. Naturally European Freesia & Pear Hand Wash
Somerset Toiletry Co. Naturally European Freesia & Pear Hand Wash

Somerset Toiletry Co. is a British company that was founded in 1999 with the goal of providing fairly priced, luxury toiletries. The founders, Roger and Sakina Buoy, originally produced body care products for other companies but decided to develop their own range and the company has been acknowledged for a number of awards, including the Queens Award.

The Naturally European range is the most popular range by the brand and the Naturally European Hand Wash is a luxurious, natural hand wash that is cruelty free and suitable for vegans. It is also SLS and paraben free, making it suitable for those with more sensitive skin (yay!). It comes in a range of scents, but I've only been testing out the Freesia & Pear fragrance.

It comes packaged in a clear, plastic bottle with a black pump lid and it holds 500ml of product. The Hand Wash itself is clear in colour.

Nourish London Skincare Kale 3D Cleanse and Argan Skin Renew Moisturiser reviews

-This post contains gifted products and affiliate links.-

Hi guys! I'm here today with another natural skincare duo. Regular readers will most likely know that I have a soft spot for natural skincare and I love products that are good for the environment as well as for the skin, so I'm really happy to be bringing another natural skincare brand to the blog.

Nourish London Skincare Kale 3D Cleanse and Argan Skin Renew Moisturiser
Nourish London Skincare Kale 3D Cleanse and Argan Skin Renew Moisturiser

Nourish is a British brand that focuses on organic, vegan and cruelty-free skincare. The two products that I have to show you today are the Nourish Kale 3D Cleanse and the Nourish Argan Skin Renew Moisturiser

The Kale 3D Cleanse is a unique, colour changing facial cleanser that provides you with a deep cleanse that removes impurities and makeup, refreshes the skin and protects against pollution. It contains Supercharged Kale and Griffonia to detoxify the skin, minimise signs of ageing and to protect against pollutants as well as Hyaluronic acid, oxygenating extracts and probiotics to refresh and energise.

The Argan Skin Renew Moisturiser is created as an anti-ageing, hydrating moisturiser, suitable for all skin types. It includes a blend of skin nourishing oils such as jojoba, sunflower and most importantly, argan. It also includes a blend of essential oils (discussed further on in the review), Vitamin E and collagen boosting tripeptides.

Both products are multi-award winning with the Kale 3D Cleanse holding the Gold Award as Best Cleanser from The Green Parent Natural Beauty Awards 2017 accolade amongst others and the Argan Skin Renew Moisturiser sporting the Best Anti-Ageing product achievement from The Beauty Bible Awards 2015 alongside others.

Both the Kale 3D Cleanse and the Argan Skin Renew Moisturiser come packaged in sleek, glass bottles with twist open pump lids (which cuts down on plastic waste for lid covers). The Kale 3D Cleanse holds either 30ml or 100ml of product and the Argan Skin Renew Moisturiser holds 50ml. The packaging on both looks and feels luxurious with a weight to them.

I'm going to begin by discussing the Kale 3D Cleanse and then I will move onto the Argan Skin Renew Moisturiser.

Ella Mae Snail Slime Shampoo and Snail Slime Regenerating Hair Mask reviews

-This post contains gifted products and affiliate links.-

Hey guys! Snail slime isn't a new beauty trend, but it is one that definitely hasn't vanished off the beauty radar. Whilst it may sound pretty weird and off putting from the name alone, the benefits of snail slime in both skincare and hair care have been well researched. I'll dive into that more in a moment, but allow me a moment to introduce today's snail slime-based review focus: the Ella Mae Snail Slime Shampoo and Snail Slime Regenerating Mask

Ella Mae Snail Slime Shampoo and Snail Slime Regenerating Mask
Ella Mae Snail Slime Shampoo and Snail Slime Regenerating Mask

Ella Mae is a natural and vegan cosmetic brand from France. They currently focus their attention on natural hair care and also natural snail slime skincare. I've been sent the Ella Mae Snail Slime Shampoo and Snail Slime Regenerating Mask to review here on the blog and therefore will be discussing them here with you today!

So what are the benefits of snail slime in cosmetics? Well, snail slime happens to be full of beneficial proteins (including collagen and elastin, among many others) that help to moisturise, nourish, exfoliate, purify, heal, regenerate and that even have antioxidant effects. In relation to hair care, the moisturising compounds of snail slime help to seal the hair which helps to moisturise both the hair and the scalp. It nourishes, soothes and promotes healthy hair growth.

The Ella Mae Snail Slime Shampoo and Snail Slime Regenerating Mask are designed for scalp and hair regeneration. They are sulfate and paraben free, suitable for vegans and natural. They're suitable for all hair types, including curly, oily/itchy and damaged/dry. They helps to seal the hair and protect it from damage, detangle, nourish the scalp and promote healthy hair growth.

The Snail Slime Shampoo comes packaged in a shiny, white, plastic bottle with a sleek gold and black font design alongside the pink Ella Mae logo. It holds 250ml of product and has a push cap to dispense the shampoo, which itself is like a thick, clear gel consistency with a subtle clean, fresh fragrance.

The Snail Slime Regenerating Mask comes in a shiny, white, screw cap, plastic jar that holds 250ml of product. The mask itself is a thick, white consistency and also has a subtle, clean and fresh fragrance.

YOPE Linden Natural Shower Gel, Natural Hand and Body Lotion and Natural Liquid Soap reviews

- This post contains gifted products and affiliate links. -

Hey guys! Regular readers of the blog will likely be aware that I am a huge fan of natural products and those with a special message or purpose behind them. Today I am going to be discussing a new product launch from a brand that does good elsewhere as you purchase, so naturally I'm rather excited to dive into this one with you all.

YOPE Linden Natural Liquid Soap, Natural Shower Gel and Natural Hand and Body Lotion
YOPE Linden Natural Liquid Soap, Natural Shower Gel and Natural Hand and Body Lotion

YOPE is a Polish brand that was set up by a husband-wife team, Karolina and PaweÅ‚ in 2015. They wanted to have access to a brand of personal care and home related products that were natural, effective and yet affordable. However, with a wide gap in the market for such a range, they decided to provide that need for themselves as well as others who were seeking it. YOPE is the result; a range that cuts out the harsh ingredients that so often effect sensitive skin types and instead focuses on gentle yet effective products that are rich in natural oils, butters and plant extracts and also feature mild cleansers, non-toxic surfactants, natural citric acid and soothing ingredients such as allantoin and glycerine. Many YOPE products are Ecocert certified, none are tested on animals and all packaging is recyclable (they also encourage refilling bottles and provide refill packs).

The range that I will be reviewing today specifically is their new Linden range. The Linden range is a three-part skincare range that includes a floral, herbaceous and uplifting-scented Natural Liquid Soap, Natural Shower Gel and Natural Body Lotion. Each Linden product contains extracts of linden, marigold and chamomile flowers. The purchase of any YOPE Linden product also helps YOPE with their new mission to contribute to the fight to save the bees with #beeYOPE. Part of the profits from the sale of Linden products (at Waitrose stores in the UK) are donated to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, a charity that plant meadows in urban areas, providing homes to pollinators and in turn making a difference to our ecosystem.

Each of the Linden products comes packaged in the style of other YOPE products; a large pump-lidded bottle that boasts beautiful illustrations of animals - a different animal for each YOPE range. The Linden range features a cute little raccoon.

Affordability can be a bit of an issue with natural products, so a brand that includes this as part of their ethos is always a fascinating one to me. I think that making natural products more accessible can only have a positive effect overall, but a hefty price tag isn't going to help on that venture. Let's get into my thoughts on the YOPE Linden range!

For the sake of the review I am going to describe and review each product in turn.

Norfolk Natural Living Natural Deodorant review

- This post contains gifted products and affiliate links. -

Hey guys! I’m back! Thank you so much for your patience whilst I had some things to deal with, but I’m here again and today I’m bringing you a post about a product that I received recently from a brand called Norfolk Natural Living.

Norfolk Natural Living Natural Deodorant
Norfolk Natural Living Natural Deodorant

The Natural Deodorant from Norfolk Natural Living is described as being a unisex, "refreshing, long-lasting natural deodorant" that is made of natural ingredients, is vegan friendly and is free of aluminium and parabens. It has also never been tested on animals and is good to the environment (and the packaging is made of recycled materials). In addition to acting as a deodorant, it also contains hydrating ingredients to keep your underarms moisturised. All ingredients used are also gentle enough for sensitive skin.

The Norfolk Natural Living Natural Deodorant comes in a range of four fragrances; fig, rose, sea salt and lime. I have the fragrance sea salt and it smells lovely and refreshing, like hanging around at the sea side. I imagine it would be particularly great for the summer months!

Alongside the deodorant, Norfolk Natural Living have a varied range of other natural products for sale, including skincare, bodycare and haircare as well as household and cleaning products. So if you like your household products to be as natural as your skincare, maybe you’d like to check out the rest of their range.

Norfolk Natural Living Natural Deodorant

Going back to the deodorant though, each bottle is 50ml in size and is made of glass with a shiny, plastic screw cap lid. The deodorant has a rollerball inside to apply it with and the deodorant itself is a pale yellow in colour.

I love the style of the bottle and the packaging. I also love how it looked when I opened the box as I felt that the packaging and the bottle itself had a nice, rustic vibe to it. Therefore, I took all the photos of the bottle still in the box so that you could all appreciate that vibe also!

Alteya Organics Bio Damascena Organic Rose Otto Day Moisturizer, Night Moisturizer and Eye Cream reviews

- This post contains gifted products and affiliate links. -

Hey guys! If you are a regular reader of the blog then you may have seen my last post talking about Lexira, a skincare brand that harnesses Bulgarian Rose Oil for its amazing skincare benefits. At the end of that post I promised a second post featuring another brand that puts Bulgarian rose oil at the core of its products, and today it is here!

Alteya Organics Bio Damascena Organic Rose Otto Day Moisturizer, Eye Cream and Night Moisturizer
Alteya Organics Bio Damascena Organic Rose Otto Day Moisturizer, Eye Cream and Night Moisturizer

Alteya Organics is a natural skincare brand that has beginnings in growing and harvesting roses and lavender flowers in Bulgaria. Over the years this then branched out into utilising the rose flowers for their oil by using them in a skincare range. I won’t go into all the details about the benefits of Bulgarian Rose Oil in this post, but instead I’ll direct you to my Lexira post where I went into more detail about what Bulgarian Rose Oil can be used for.

Alteya Organics provide a wide range of skincare products for all skin types, including baby products. Today I have three products from their Bio Demascena collection to share with you: the Rose Otto Day Moisturizer, Rose Otto Night Moisturizer and Rose Otto Eye Cream.

This range is targeted to those who are looking to fight the first signs of ageing and also for balancing the skin.

The Alteya Organics Bio Damascena Organic Rose Otto Day Moisturizer is a daytime moisturiser that promises to balance and rejuvenate the skin whilst battling the appearance of the first signs of ageing. On top of that, it also helps against protecting the skin against daily environmental stress.

The Alteya Organics Bio Damascena Organic Rose Otto Night Moisturizer is a night cream that provides moisture to the skin whilst helping with the overall skin texture, to repair skin damage from the day, provide nourishment as well as a glow to the skin and to smooth and condition. Like the rest of the range, this is also designed to target the first signs of ageing.

The Alteya Bio Damascena Organic Rose Otto Ageless Eye Cream is an eye cream that is designed to nourish the eye area, preventing dehydration and helping to promote a radiant and more youthful look. It also helps with fine lines around the eyes.

The products are all packaged in black, with black, glass bottles for the day and night moisturisers and a black, plastic jar for the eye cream. Both of the moisturisers are white and average lotion-like in consistency whereas the eye cream is an off white, mousse-esque balm.

Bouclème Hydrating Hair Cleanser review

- This post contains affiliate links. -

Hey guys! So who is still hunting for that perfect shampoo? One that gives you perfect, healthy hair with a nice shine, body and texture without making it look flat and limp? Or if you have curly hair you’re probably looking for something to tame curls and to take away frizz to leave you with soft, manageable curls, right? Well, let’s check out whether today’s product could be your perfect shampoo.

Bouclème Hydrating Hair Cleanser
Bouclème Hydrating Hair Cleanser

The Bouclème Hydrating Hair Cleanser is a 98% natural, low-poo shampoo that promises to gently cleanse the hair with no harsh chemicals or nasties. It is primarily aimed at those with curly hair, but it is also great for those with fine hair or loose waves, or anybody at all who is looking for a gentle hair cleanser.

The Hydrating Hair Cleanser is free of silicones, sulphates and parabens, but instead it is rammed full of beneficial oils (namely *deep breath*... coconut, mongongo, camellia, seabuckthorn, may chang, grapefruit, mandarin red, sweet orange, bergamot, marjoram sweet, rosemary, spearmint, patchouli, magnolia flower, magnolia leaf, palmarosa, linden, benzoin and castor. And breathe!), antioxidants Vitamins C and E, amino acids and Omega 7 for replenishing moisture and shine as well as repairing sun damaged hair. It also has some sea salt for texture, volume and blood circulation of the scalp.

It comes packaged in a translucent plastic bottle with a simple yet pretty blue sticker around it with the Bouclème logo and product info. The shampoo itself is off-white in colour and a runny consistency. The packaging looks sleek and would look smart in anyone’s bathroom. It comes in 100ml, 300ml and 1 litre sizes.

I got my 100ml bottle from Latest In Beauty who recently had a few Bouclème products available to choose. As of posting they are no longer available, but I have seen this shampoo come back into stock before so it can be worthwhile to check.

Generation Skincare Vitamin C Serum review

- These products were sent to me as review considerations. However, this hasn't in any way affected my review with all thoughts and feelings about the products being 100% my own. This post contains affiliate links. -

Blemish free, youthful, smooth, hydrated, glowing skin. We all want it, right? That’s precisely why the skincare industry is so big. So within a sea of products claiming to be your one magic cure it can be very difficult to navigate your way to something that works. Enter us lowly beauty bloggers to be your personal guinea pigs and we bring you posts like I’m bringing you today. That’s right, I’m here reviewing a serum that promises all the above.

Generation Skincare Vitamin C Serum
Generation Skincare Vitamin C Serum

The Generation Skincare Vitamin C Serum is a lightweight, all-natural serum that contains Vitamins B, C and E, Aloe Vera (which itself is rich in Vitamins C and E), Green Tea and hyaluronic acid.

We all know how good Vitamin C is for our health, but how good can it be for our skin? Vitamin C helps to rejuvenate the skin and to fight signs of ageing before they begin. On top of that it promotes the production of collagen and helps with redness and inflammation. Alongside the Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid works to retain water and to keep the skin super hydrated.

The addition of Vitamin E is great for acne scarring as I’ve mentioned before in previous posts as well as tissue repair whilst the Vitamin B improves elasticity, eases redness and irritations and nourishes.

Aloe Vera is well-known to be soothing as well as moisturising and Green Tea is good for detoxifying and is anti-inflammatory.

The Generation Skincare Vitamin C Serum is not tested on animals.

It comes packaged in a 30ml dark orange/brown tinted glass bottle which is ideal to help prevent the product from spoiling quickly. It has an orange sticker on the bottle with product information and the screw cap lid contains a pipette dropper for application.

JAQUA Caramel Cappuccino Whipped Sugarcream Scrub review

*
Hey guys! Last week I focused on a product that is perfect for all your upcoming Christmas/New Year parties, but today I’m going to focus on something that helps to combat dry, winter skin which is something most of us need some help with in this cold weather!

JAQUA Caramel Cappuccino Whipped Sugarcream Scrub
JAQUA Caramel Cappuccino Whipped Sugarcream Scrub

The JAQUA Caramel Cappuccino Whipped Sugarcream Scrub is a 98% organic body exfoliator that sloughs off dry skin and highly moisturises at the same time. It is made up of organic coconut oil and organic, fine-grained cane sugar. It can be used in either the shower or bath, as a lip scrub (in very small amounts) or without water for intense hydration.

The JAQUA Whipped Sugarcream Scrub comes in a range of fragrances to suit your mood, but the one that I have to discuss today is fragranced with Caramel Cappuccino.

It comes packaged in a white, plastic, screw-cap jar with a sticker wrapped around it containing product information. The sticker colour is different for each fragrance. It comes in two sizes, holding either 227g/8oz or 57g/2oz.

The product itself changes in appearance depending on the storage conditions or even weather. Coconut oil hardens when it is cold and becomes liquid when it is hot.

EyeWake Hydrating Eye Serum review

*
HEYE GEYES! SEE what I did there? Today’s post is all about an eye serum so y’know, I thought I’d open with some excruciatingly terrible puns. I know, it was really, really bad. I’m so sorry. Please don’t click away from the page, I promise there will be no more puns and this product is worth a look (pun not intended there).

EyeWake Hydrating Eye Serum
EyeWake Hydrating Eye Serum

So yeah, as I stated above, today’s post is going to be featuring the natural and organic EyeWake Hydrating Eye Serum which is described as a unique collagen formula gel. It is designed to reduce puffiness, dark circles, fine lines, crows feet and signs of fatigue around the eyes whilst gently hydrating the area. It contains hydrolysed collagen, Vitamin E, cucumber and elderflower. It’s rammed full of antioxidants which help to boost vitality.

In addition to using this eye serum around your eyes, it can be used on the face to help with fine lines and other signs of ageing whilst also leaving your skin smooth and bright.

As well as being natural and organic, EyeWake are against animal cruelty, is alcohol free and for every purchase of the serum, EyeWake make a donation to Women’s Aid which is a charity that I wholeheartedly support.

It comes packaged in a white bottle with black text that holds 30ml of eye serum. It has a pump lid for dispensing the product. The serum itself is clear and has a water like consistency.

Application and Results:

To use, you need to tap or massage a small amount of the serum onto clean, dry skin around the eye area and allow to absorb.

EyeWake Hydrating Eye Serum
EyeWake Hydrating Eye Serum

Due to the very watery consistency, when you pump it onto your fingertips you need to work quick before it runs and ends up getting wasted.

It takes a little while to sink into the skin properly, but I find that if you use a tiny amount at a time and gently dab it in around the eyes and then continue to build it up, it dries faster. This does drag out the application time a bit though, so whether or not it saves any time overall depends on how much you feel that you need to use.

It doesn’t have a very noticeable cooling effect like some eye gels, even though it does contain cucumber.

When applying and even when it’s dry, it doesn’t leave a heaviness around the eyes. It feels lightweight and looks mattified. It really does look and feel like you’ve just applied some water around the eyes and let it dry off.

The main thing that I love about this serum is that when it does dry it doesn’t leave a sticky or greasy feeling behind. Makeup is super easy to apply over the top of it without it sticking or caking up like it can over some eye creams or gels.

EyeWake Hydrating Eye Serum
EyeWake Hydrating Eye Serum

I’ve been using the serum for two weeks now and I find that there have been some improvements with fine lines around my eyes. The top thing that I’ve noticed though is the reduction in puffiness and dark circles. Even without a cooling effect on the eyes, it does a great job at helping you to look more awake if you continue to use it daily.

In regards to using it on the rest of the face, I think that it works alright as a mild moisturiser for oilier skin, but for drier skin you would likely prefer to use it as a serum with a moisturiser on top. It leaves a nice, smooth finish that’s mattified and it works well as a base for makeup. It does a great job at helping with smile lines or creases and filling them back out as well as any other fine lines.

If you plan on just using this around your eyes, then 30ml is actually a lot of product for your money. Most eye creams and gels come in sizes of between 10-15ml, so it’s like buying two of them in one bottle. If you plan on using this on your entire face, then 30ml is a pretty standard size for a bottle of serum.

Overall, I think this is a great multipurpose product. It works best as an eye serum, but it is a nice addition to your facial skincare routine if you are looking for that little extra boost this winter. If you have lots of late nights that result in puffy, tired eyes that have noticeable dark circles, then this is a fantastic product to try out. You may not notice results from day one, but keep going and the eye area just continues to get better every day.

Product Rating: 8/10

SOLIDU EXOTIC Shampoo Bar review

*
Hi guys! If you’re a regular reader of the blog, you may have noticed that I like to discuss products that are natural and good for the environment. Today I’ll be discussing a new shampoo that I’ve been trying out that’s environmentally conscious.

SOLIDU EXOTIC Shampoo bar
SOLIDU EXOTIC Shampoo bar

SOLIDU is a brand that create environmentally friendly cosmetics. Their products use no water and are solid (hence the name SOLIDU), and they also come with no plastic packaging. This means that not only are the cosmetics themselves natural and environmentally friendly, but the packaging is too. On top of that, they advertise their products as being for those who aren’t afraid to be different or expressive.

The SOLIDU EXOTIC Shampoo bar is a solid shampoo that comes packed with natural ingredients. It is targeted to those with normal and oily hair who are looking for everyday care. The spicy scented, bright blue bar of shampoo includes coconut oil, mango and cocoa butters, eucalyptus, patchouli, vanilla, citrus, clary sage and ylang-ylang. It smells like heaven and that colour is equally beautiful!

Along with the EXOTIC Shampoo bar, SOLIDU do a whole range of other shampoos, conditioner, lip balm and a body wash.

Each bar then comes packaged in an open sided cardboard box with a card sleeve to keep it safe inside.

AA Skincare Zing Fresh Shampoo Bar review

*
Hey guys! If you suffer from either oily, dry or damaged hair and/or an itchy scalp, then today’s post is definitely for you!

Today I’m going to be reviewing the AA Skincare Zing Fresh Shampoo Bar which is designed for oily, dry or damaged hair with an itchy scalp. It contains Peppermint Oil and Coconut Oil to soothe itchy scalps and to rejuvenate and add softness to the hair.

Each Shampoo Bar is designed to last much longer than a 250ml bottle of shampoo, so it’s cost effective, better for the environment due to no plastic packaging and easier for travelling too as it isn't liquid.

All AA Skincare products are made with natural ingredients and come with no added nasty bits. They are also all cruelty free.

The Zing Fresh Shampoo Bar is a bit like a big green pebble to hold and is 50g, and it comes packaged in a beige AA Skincare cardboard box. It looks like it would smell of citrus, but it smells of peppermint (as you may work out from the inclusion of peppermint oil).

I’ve reviewed a shampoo bar from AA Skincare in the past and I was a big fan. If you have read the review that I wrote about the AA Skincare Twilight Shampoo Bar then you may think that they sound pretty similar. Therefore, I have compiled a bit of info to compare the different products too.

So for this review, I’m going to start by looking at the similarities and differences between the Zing Fresh Shampoo Bar and a couple of others in the range, and then I’ll go into how to use it and the results, ending with information on where to purchase.

PitRok Crystal Original Natural Deodorant Stick review

Who is loving the beautiful weather? Who isn’t loving the smell of body odour that comes with sweating in the hot weather? Well, if you are one of those who hate body odour but prefer using natural products, then this post is for you.

PitRok Crystal Original Natural Deodorant Stick
PitRok Crystal Original Natural Deodorant Stick

The PitRok Crystal Original Natural Deodorant Stick is a natural, crystal deodorant that is fragrance free and suitable for sensitive skin.  It works by applying a thin layer of mineral salt which is a bacteriostatic agent that prevents odour causing bacteria from growing, and it does not block pores. It is suitable for sensitive skin, is free of Aluminium Zirconium and Aluminium Chlorohydrate, propylene glycol, SLS/SLES, parabens, fragrance and silicones.

When a product has as many 5-star reviews as this one does, it’s worth paying attention to it and checking it out. It definitely captured my attention and I wanted to share my thoughts on it with all of your beautiful faces!

It comes packaged in a shiny, black plastic tube with the PitRok logo in white and gold in the front. It has a screw cap lid and the product itself is a hard, translucent crystal that can be pushed up from the bottom. It hold 100g of product.

Davines Naturaltech Detoxifying Scrub Shampoo review

*
We focus so much on taking care of our skin and we do a whole range of practices using different products, and an example of one technique is exfoliation. Chances are that you already exfoliate your skin, own facial exfoliators, body exfoliators and so on. One of the less common products you hear about though is a hair and scalp exfoliator. Well, they do exist (and in fact, I've already reviewed an exfoliating shampoo before), and today I shall be sharing all you need to know about one that I've been trying out recently.

Davines Naturaltech Detoxifying Scrub Shampoo
Davines Naturaltech Detoxifying Scrub Shampoo

The Davines Naturaltech Detoxifying Scrub Shampoo is a lightly exfoliating, balancing shampoo that contains a hefty dose of antioxidants from the addition of artichoke phytoceuticals, and jojoba oil for shine and moisture. It promises to clarify and remove any product build up from the hair and scalp, thoroughly clean and stimulate the scalp and also rejuvenate, refresh, enhance shine, moisturise, protect from free-radicals and of course, detox the hair and scalp.

It is free from sulfates, and Davines say that the "Naturaltech [range] is a complete program of innovative solutions that target hair and scalp problems while bridging sustainable beauty practices with cutting edge technology."

It comes bottled in a plastic, dark orange/brown bottle with a flip cap lid and it is available in two sizes: 250ml and 1000ml. The shampoo itself is light green in colour with scrubbing beads inside. You could almost mistake it for an exfoliating face wash by sight.
