Hey guys! Who doesn't love a bit of luxury in their lives? Luxury skincare in particular can really make us feel great. There’s something about the use of it as well as the results, isn’t there? You just feel really good using it. It’s a hard to explain feeling. Well today I’m bringing some beautifully luxurious skincare products to the blog (seriously, they all have luxurious in the name and everything) made around one of the most sought after and exquisite essential oils in the world: Bulgarian rose oil.

Lexira is a brand that you may not have heard of before, but is one you should take notice of. The main ingredient in their entire range is organically grown Bulgarian rose oil which is a well sought after essential oil in the beauty industry. It is renowned for its skin reviving effects. Bulgarian rose oil hydrates, smoothes and soothes the skin and is an anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant.

Rather than importing this oil for use elsewhere, Lexira have utilised this oil on their doorstep to bring you the purest and best Bulgarian rose oil in their products and they are manufactured by hand in Bulgaria.

The products I have to share with you today are the Lexira Luxurious Day Cream Light Formula, Luxurious Night Emulsion, Luxurious Eye Serum and Rich Moisturizing Body Butter

The Lexira Luxurious Day Cream Light Formula is a lightweight moisturiser that is designed for humid conditions. I would also say this is a moisturiser that is suitable for all skin types, including oily/blemish prone. Alongside the Bulgarian Rose Oil, this moisturiser contains oat extract for moisture retention, toning and tightening, argan, sesame and macadamia oils for hydration and nourishment, and green tea and Arninca Montana to invigorate and stimulate micro circulation.

The Lexira Luxurious Night Emulsion is formulated with a range of precious oils and natural extracts to create an intensively nourishing and hydrating night time moisturiser. Alongside the Bulgarian rose oil, the Night Emulsion contains argan and almond oils for cell regeneration, sesame oil for elastin production and cleansing properties, Shea butter for smoothing and softening and oat extract for tightening, toning and retaining moisture.

The Lexira Luxurious Eye Serum contains a concentrated amount of ingredients similar to the Night Emulsion, except that it also boasts micro algae extract to reduce puffiness around the eyes and to tighten the area. It is also designed to intensely hydrate the sensitive skin around the eyes.

The Lexira Rich Moisturizing Body Butter is a long-lasting blend of butters and oils to provide incredible hydration for even the driest of skin. As well as the rose oil, this Body Butter is enriched with Shea butter and argan, olive and almond oils.

When I received this amazing box of goodies, I also received a lot of samples. Because of this, I handed some out to people close to me to try out for some extra feedback. Hopefully this will make the reviews more well-rounded and informative for you all!

Additionally, I can mention a few other products that I sampled at the end. I won’t be able to give a full on review for those products, but at least I can give them a mention if you’re interested in the brand and their range.

Usage and Results:

Before I talk about each of the products individually, there are some things to note about all of them together.

As each of the products contain Bulgarian rose oil they all have a beautiful scent of roses. The day and night creams as well as the Eye Serum are all packaged in a weighty glass bottle as well, and this mixed with the rose scent really gives them a feeling of quality. The Body Butter is in a plastic jar, but it still feels opulent too.

The feedback on the packaging from those who I asked to help was instantly about how luxurious it looks. That word is definitely getting across in the style as well as the product name, so hats of to Lexira for really nailing it on that point.

The Lexira Luxurious Day Cream Light Formula comes packaged in a sleek, glass bottle that holds 50ml of product.

What I find particularly interesting about this moisturiser is how it applies. It comes out of the bottle as cream, but as you begin to rub it into the skin it feels a bit like a mousse.

Straight after application pores begin to look minimised and the skin mattified, but still feeling silky smooth. The best way I can describe the finish is that it’s like you’ve just applied a pore perfecting primer. I’ll use Benefit’s The POREfessional as an example because it’s probably the example most people would be familiar with.

I don’t think any mattifying moisturiser truly lasts all day, but this is possibly the longest lasting matte effect I’ve ever received from a moisturiser. It starts to wear off a bit after a few hours, but thats a few hours longer than a lot of matte moisturisers that I've used in the past for sure.

This is one of the products that my mum has been really raving about. She loves this day cream and has been non-stop telling me as such since she started trying it. She’s not the kind of person who gets into skincare and is usually the type to stick with "yes it’s good," or "this is nice" type of comments, but with this cream she got really into it. I’ve heard lots of "I really love this cream!" and "my skin is so soft!" type comments, so it’s even managed to convert a usually skincare-unenthusiastic person into an excited one.

Lexira Luxurious Night Emulsion

Just like the Day Cream, the Night Emulsion comes packaged in a sleek glass bottle that contains 50ml of product.

This moisturiser isn’t as mattifying as the Day Cream, but that’s not particularly an issue for a night cream. It doesn’t leave the skin feeling greasy either, so to me it’s a non-issue. It's smoothing, non-greasy, non-mattifying and absorbs well.

Upon awakening the skin is left with a beautiful, natural glow. Over time it also helps to even out the skintone too which is fantastic.

I have oily, blemish prone skin and this night cream hasn’t caused any break outs or extra oil. Instead, I haven’t really had any breakouts at all. This cream doesn’t claim to fight blemishes, but it’s interesting to note.

I have recently been testing out the Derma Roller System. I wrote in that review that after a couple of days the treatment had caused some dryness on the skin. Well, in addition to the DermaC+ serum, also mentioned in that review and that I was using post treatment, this was the cream that helped to get my skin back into amazing shape and contributed to giving me the best skin of my life.

Even better is that you only need a small amount to achieve this as a little goes a long way. It is hands down one of the best night creams that I have ever used.

The Lexira Luxurious Eye Serum comes similarly packaged to the moisturisers, but the bottle is only half the size and holds 15ml. However, the outer box packaging is the same size as the moisturisers so it can look a little misleading from the outside.

This is one of those eye creams that only need a very small amount to cover the whole area. It spreads out really well, so one bottle will last for some time.

It absorbs quickly which is nice and is non-irritating to the eyes. Because this also leaves the skin feeling smooth but not greasy, this is a great eye product for day time wear under makeup.

I found this to do a lovely job at reducing dark circles under the eyes and it has begun to help with fine lines. I need to continue usage before I can comment on longer term results though.

I have pretty sensitive eyes and some eye creams can really irritate my eyes. This one, however, doesn’t.

This Eye Serum is a fantastic product to use alongside the day and night moisturisers in the range and also feels amazing to use.

Lexira Rich Moisturizing Body Butter

The Lexira Rich Moisturizing Body Butter comes in a plastic jar with a metal screw cap lid and the jar holds 200ml of product.

The Body Butter itself is incredibly thick, so at first you may think that you need a lot when you use it. However, you barely need any and that’s quite a surprise. You can rub your fingers across the top with a slight bit of pressure to get some product onto the fingers, then rub your hands together to warm it up before applying to the skin. This amount of Body Butter for me will cover half a leg or an arm as an example of how far it will go.

The downside of this Body Butter though is that you need to take some time with it. Application is slower because of the thickness of the butter and it takes a long time to really absorb into the skin. Therefore I would say that this is a definite nighttime product where you can really give it chance to work.

You don’t need to worry about it not keeping your skin moisturised for long enough if you apply at nighttime either. This stuff moisturises really well. You can use it, shower/bath the next day and your skin is still feeling soft from the day before post-washing. It’s one of those really hardworking moisturising products that works longer term than just until you wash it off, and that’s amazing.

Because of this I would say that it’s a brilliant product for those with drier skin in particular. I’d also say it’s fantastic at getting the body hydrated and glowing for summer, if that’s your thing. If you’re going to be using it in the summer though then I reiterate my above point about using it at night as I could imagine this being far too heavy for applying before heading out into the sun. I just think of greasiness in places like the crease on your elbow or behind your knees as it melts in the heat. Applying the night before won’t cause this issue as it gives the Body Butter more than enough time to absorb.

If you want something for the day time during the hotter months, then one of the samples I was sent was the Lexira Moisturizing Body Nectar. I’ve given that a quick test as well and can confirm that it’s a lighter alternative, but still quite moisturising. It absorbs quickly into the skin though so you do need to use enough to cover the body as it will just sink in so fast. It's not as intensive as this butter, as you would expect, but still a great product to try out.

In addition to all of the products I've spoken about in this review, I also tested the Rich Hand Moisturizer which was one of the samples I received. I have to say that even though I've only tried it from a sample sachet, it's an incredible hand cream. The biggest pet peeve I have with hand creams is how they can take a while to absorb, but this one absorbs so quickly and your hands are feeling insanely moisturised with no excess greasiness.

And there we have it! Another long post this week, but I have to say that all of the products in this review have really impressed me. I'd never heard of Lexira before, but now I am absolutely in love. I can't even choose a favourite product out of the ones featured as I think that they are all fantastic, but if I was forced to choose then I would say jointly the day and night creams.

If you want to get your hands on any of the products in the Lexira range then you can find them over at Sveti Cosmetics.

If you’re interested in these products and are interested in the use of Bulgarian rose oil, then stay tuned for next week when I have another Bulgarian rose oil brand to show you!
