Top Beauty Products of 2015

*
So here we are! We have reached the end of 2015, so that means that it is time to discuss what beauty products have impressed us the most this year.

As I did last year, I have compiled a list of products that I have throughout the year and have loved. They may not have been originally released this year, but they were tested and written about on the blog over the course of 2015.

It's been a difficult list to come up with as there are so many stand outs for me, but I've managed to whittle it down into a list of 9 products (including 1 Children's product) for your viewing pleasure.

Don't forget to get down to the end of the list to see what my ultimate top product of 2015 is and to let me know what your favourites are too!

So without any further delay, let's take a look at the list.

Korres Wild Rose Eye Cream review

Dark circles around the eyes can be annoying. However, they're not really avoidable as they tend to be caused by our genes (thanks, genes!) amongst similar reasons, such as getting older (thanks, ageing!), but there are ways that we can help to reduce their appearance.

Korres Wild Rose Eye Cream

Korres' Wild Rose Eye Cream is an 81.5% natural eye cream that aims to reduce the appearance of fine lines and dark circles (and it is also SPF15). It contains wild rose oil which is high in Vitamin C that helps to repair fine lines and pigmentation issues. It also contains linoleic acid and linolenic acid that helps moisturise, heal and soften. There is also the added benefit of it adding a protective film on the skin to help cell regeneration as well as to improve texture of the skin. So, not much, eh!?

In contrast to what it does contain, it importantly doesn't contain any mineral oil, PEG, SLES, ALES, silicones, parabens, petrolatum/paraffin wax, retinol, polycylic musks, synthetic dye, propylene glycol, ethanolamines, phthlates or any animal by-products.

Korres Bergamot Pear Showergel review

If you are a regular reader of my blog then you may remember that recently I fell in love with Korres' Bergamot Pear Body Milk. It's such a beautifully scented, lightweight moisturiser, and it was only a matter of time before I bagged myself the accompanying body wash.

The Korres Bergamot Pear Showergel is an 87% natural product that is free of silicones, mineral oil, parabens, alcohol and more (see below), is also suitable for vegans and vegetarians and is not tested on animals. It is rich in Vitamin E, Vitamin C, zinc and antioxidant enzymes and also contains Active Aloe, an ingredient that has the "ability to stimulate collagen and elastin synthesis," helping to reduce the visible signs of skin ageing. It also claims to help boost the skins immune system.

It comes packaged in a dark red/brown bottle (with the product information sticker wrapped around it) with a white flip cap that holds 250ml of product. The wash itself is a cloudy white colour with the same beautiful scent of the Body Milk.

Korres Bergamot Pear Body Milk review

Korres is a natural skincare brand from Greece. Their Body Milks are 92.3% natural and combine provitamin B5, jojoba oil and Shea butter to help improve the suppleness of the skin and provide long-lasting moisture. As well as this, Active Aloe, antioxidant enzymes, zinc and vitamin E also help to support the immune system of the skin whilst sweet almond oil acts as an anti-inflammatory.

The Body Milks are free of parabens, silicones, alcohol, mineral oil and phthalates amongst numerous other nasties.

They come packaged in flip-cap tubes that hold 200ml of product. The Body Milk itself is of an average consistency, not too runny or too thick, and is white in colour. They come in a range of ten different scents.

If you have read my review of the latest Birchbox (April’s Royally Good box) then you will see that I mentioned that I was planning on writing a full-length post about this product. Having made it through my sample, I now have a full-size version of the Korres Bergamot Pear Body Milk to show and discuss with you today!

Birchbox - Royally Good April 2015 box review

Birchbox is a monthly beauty box that includes 5-6 deluxe samples of beauty and lifestyle products that are tailored to you.

You get to discover new products and test them out in the comfort of your own home with no pressure to buy the full product if you don’t like it! However, if you do enjoy it, you can purchase the full sizes from the Birchbox store with the most recent month’s brands being available with free delivery (min. £10 spend)!

Birchbox April 2015 Royally Good

To celebrate the upcoming birth of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s second child, Birchbox have themed this months box around the new royal baby. The Royally Good box comes in two different colours - pink for a girl and blue for a boy - and the box that you receive is a surprise to everybody. To add into the fun, the different coloured boxes are also part of a competition. To enter, you need to take a photo of your box and upload it to Instagram, Facebook or Twitter with a description of what you would do if you were Queen for the day. You also need to make sure that you add the hashtag #HRHBirchbox and by tag @BirchboxUK. Once the royal baby is born, if it is a girl, all of those who uploaded a photo of their pink box are entered into the competition for a chance to win a collection of pink beauty goodies. If it is a boy, all of those with the blue box are entered instead to win a collection of blue beauty goodies!

I was incredibly excited to receive the pink box! A few weeks ago, myself and my boyfriend welcomed our beautiful new baby girl into the world. Therefore, to me, this box also feels a little like a celebration for our second bundle of joy! Funnily enough, as a random fact, I was pregnant with my first child at the same time Kate Middleton was with Prince George as well as us being pregnant with our second at the same time, too. In my eyes this theme couldn’t have been more perfect!

Here is what I received in my box this month:

Birchbox and Women's Health January 2015 box

The first Birchbox of the year is a team up with Women’s Health magazine, bringing us all a collection of products to help us refresh and even to get into shape. It’s a good idea for the first box of the year when we all start off our New Year resolutions, a large number of which will be based around improving some parts of our lives (*cough cough* we all start going to the gym and eating healthier food)!

So let’s see what I received in my Birchbox this month:
