Avon mark. Be Blushed Stick & Big Colour Eye Pencil reviews & swatches

Hi all! So as promised, todays post is a continuation of my previous post discussing the new Avon mark. range. For the low-down on what the mark. range is, I recommend giving it a quick read first as this post is going to be focusing more on what else is new and what has been rebranded under the mark. umbrella.

I will be taking a more in depth look at a couple of the items from the range, the Be Blushed Stick and the Big Colour Eye Pencil (also listed as the Big Colour Shadow Stick). I also have a few videos to show you some extra sneak peeks at some of the other items in the mark. range that I will be posting over on my Twitter, along with a couple at the end of this post too along with a link to my Avon store where you can purchase anything you fancy from the new collection.

So moving into the review element of this post, I'll be looking at the Be Blushed Stick first and then the Big Colour Eye Pencil afterwards.

Dr. PawPaw Balm Collection - now awarded PETA badge!

*
If you’re a regular reader of the blog then it should come as no surprise that I love a multitasking product, and if you’ve been reading the blog for long enough, then you may have already seen my review for the original Dr. PawPaw Balm. If you haven’t heard of it before, the Dr. PawPaw Balm is made up of a blend of natural ingredients, including fermented paw paw which is the fruit of the plant Carica Papaya that has been found to contain numerous natural healing qualities. It’s great to use for a whole variety of things, such as on your lips, dry patches of skin, cuticles, on the hair, and so on.

Dr. PawPaw Balms - Left to right: Original Balm, limited edition Tinted Red Sparkle, Tinted Peach and Tinted Ultimate Red

Today, however, I have some exciting news about the Original Balm and its tinted variants; they have now been awarded the PETA badge! This means that they are now recognised as being fully animal cruelty free AND vegan, so if you are looking for beauty products that you can be assured are cruelty free, then todays post may be of interest to you.

In celebration of the news, I have got here not only the Original Balm, but both of the core tinted variations in Tinted Peach and Tinted Ultimate Red, and the limited edition Tinted Red Sparkle Balm to discuss with you all today!

As I have already reviewed the Original Balm before, I won’t repeat myself too much here in regards to discussing it. Instead, this post is looking to focus primarily on the tinted balms along with swatches of them in use.

Each balm comes packaged in a tube that comes with 25ml of product (the original comes in a larger size of 200ml and the smaller size of 10ml as well). Each tube comes in the shade of the balm inside (minus the original one in the yellow tube - the balm is translucent and colour-free). The balm itself is quite a thick, paste like texture.

High Definition Powder Blush review

So there is a brand called HD Brows. You maaaay have heard of them, but if by chance you haven't, then they are pretty big in the brow game. You may also be aware that they sell makeup for keeping your eyebrows in perfect shape. Did you also know though that they sell other types of makeup, too? Well today we're going to have a look at one of those products.

High Definition Powder Blush
High Definition Powder Blush

The High Definition Powder Blush is a lightweight powder blush (I bet you didn’t manage to work that bit out) that comes in three shades. It is designed to be silky smooth on the skin, and not only is the formula packed with buildable pigment, but it also contains Vitamin C and Vitamin E for added skincare benefits.

Today I have the shade Cocktail to show you which is a light, warm pink shade.

It comes packaged in a small, square, matte black flip compact that has a mirror inside. It looks and feels like quality packaging, so that's always a fantastic start.

Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm review

I love the Clinique Chubby Sticks. Who doesn't love the Clinique Chubby Sticks? They're so simple to use and they work great. This is why I've been wanting to get my hands on today's product for a while, but as usual, hadn't gotten around to it yet (there's too many things on the list, that's why!). But now I have. Woohoo!

Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm in Roly Posy Rosy
Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm in Roly Posy Rosy

The Clinique Chubby Stick Cheek Colour Balm is a cream blush in the traditional Chubby Stick packaging. Clinique claim that it is an oil-free, creamy, mistake-proof blush that creates a healthy looking glow on the skin.

It comes in a range of four shades, but the one that I have to show you today is 03 Roly Posy Rosy which is described as a tawny/coral colour.

It comes packaged in the same type of packaging as the rest of the Chubby Stick range; a chubby pen type of packaging that is made of plastic the same colour as the product inside. It has a twisty bottom to push the product up when you need more and it also has a plastic cap to cover it.

Jelly Pong Pong Paradise Pigment review

I love summer. Whilst we don't always get the most of the sun though over here in the UK, we know how to make the most of it when we do. When it comes to makeup, I love bringing out my bright and colourful products, which is why, on this hot and sunny day, we're going to be looking at a very vibrant pot of pigment.

Jelly Pong Pong Paradise Pigment
Jelly Pong Pong Paradise Pigment in Cake Pop

Jelly Pong Pong's Paradise Pigment pots come in two super bright, cream shades that are designed to be used on both the lips and the cheeks to add a flush of summer. There is Cake Pop a bold pink-red coral and Fig Jam, a vivid purple-pink orchid. Whilst the name Cake Pop reminds me of Clinique's Pop range, I really love the name Fig Jam. Anyone else!? Both shades may look a little daunting in the pan, but rest assured that they don't apply that brightly on the face.

Each pot contains pumpkin seed oil and rhubarb extract for "plush, cushiony skin".

I received the shade Cake Pop in my June Birchbox, so if you'd like to subscribe to see if you receive one too, you can subscribe to Birchbox here.

They come packaged in a small, clear jar with a black screw cap lid that holds 4g of product.

ModelCo Creme Rouge Cheek and Lips review & swatches

If you're a regular reader of the blog, you will probably be aware that I love a multitasker. Multitasking products are just so darn convenient, and today I have another one to show you all!

ModelCo's Creme Rouge Cheek and Lips is a cream blush and lip colour in one. It promises to provide a sheer, buildable colour that leaves the cheeks looking dewy and naturally flushed and the lips with a hint of tint.

It only comes in one shade at the moment which is Just Peachy, a shade that is a bright, vivid red in the pan but applies far softer on the skin.

It comes packaged in a small, circular, glossy black compact with a transparent section in the flip cap lid. It holds 3.6g/0.12oz of product.

Birchbox #BeautyJunkie August 2015 box

The theme for this month is Beauty Junkies. I think that the theme is perfect! Let’s be honest, all people who are subscribed to beauty boxes are likely to love (and when I say that, I mean LOVE) beauty products (and more than likely those of you who are reading this review of it right now!), so this theme resonates in all of us. However, basing a box on the theme Beauty Junkies does add a certain amount of pressure to get this box right. So have Birchbox done that with this box? Let’s take a look!

Here is what I received in my box this month:

Birchbox Free Your Mind May 2015

The theme of this month's box is "free your mind." It is all about getting creative and experimenting. The box design is a fantastic idea and I particularly love the fact that this box is a black and white pattern that you can colour in (it even comes with a mini box of colouring pencils!). I was super excited to colour in my box, but my little man managed to get his hands on it first and coloured all over it in black crayon! Maybe I'll have to invest in an adult colouring book instead!

Here is what I received in my box this month:

The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Velvet Stick in Poppy Bronze review

The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Velvet Sticks are The Body Shop’s first chubby sticks that provide a natural flush of colour to the cheeks and the lips. The easy to use sticks provide a matte finish with a velvety texture. They come in a range of five shades.

Despite the matte finish, the Lip & Cheek Velvet Sticks each contain Community Fair Trade marula oil (the same type that is used in The Body Shop Beautifying Oils) that leave the lips and cheeks feeling soft and hydrated.

I picked myself up the shade Poppy Bronze (the other shades include Poppy Nude, Poppy Coral, Poppy Red and Poppy Pink) which is a natural-pink type of shade that contains a subtle golden sparkle.

L'Oréal True Match Blush in Peach review

L'Oréal True Match Blush in Peach is a blush that is designed to "brighten your complexion and sculpt your features in one stroke."

Each True Match Blush is supposed to enhance your natural skin tone and provide radiance.

L'Oreal True Match Blush in Peach

The Peach shade that I chose is more of an orange type peach rather than pink-peach, but the photographs do look slightly more pink.

It comes packaged in a small, square compact with rounded corners. The edges of the packaging are silver and mirror like, but the top of the lid is transparent which enables you to see the product inside. This is also where the product name is displayed. It also comes packaged with a small brush and a mirror inside and on the bottom of the compact.
