Yves Rocher Botanical Color Eye Pencil review & swatches

*
Before I get into this post, yes I do know that this is the second eyeliner based post this week. However, this little Botanical Color Eye Pencil by Yves Rocher arrived in the post this week and I simply had to discuss it with you all!

The Yves Rocher Botanical Eye Pencils are a range of highly-pigmented eyeliners that comes in a range of 13 shades inspired by botanicals. They can be used alone or together to create "ultra intense eyes".

The shades range from your typical black, brown and grey to some more vivid shades of yellow and orange.

The formula contains 100% botanical origin Carnuba Wax to help to provide a smooth and creamy application.

Today I have the shade Eucalyptus to show you which is a dark, shimmery green.

It comes packaged in a sleek, shiny black pencil with a clear, plastic lid and the end is a representation of the pencil colour.

Results:

The formula of the pencil is very creamy, so it applies easily. It also applies evenly and bold the first time, so you can apply just one stroke for a simple, non-patchy application or a couple of strokes for a slightly greater depth of colour.

I do notice that it dries pretty fast as well. Therefore, if you like smudging your eyeliner then you will need to be ready to go as soon as you draw it on.

It isn't waterproof, but so far I have had no issue with it budging, which brings me nicely onto my next point.

My favourite thing about this eyeliner? It's staying power. This stuff looks just as bright, bold and vibrant as it's initial application by the the end of the day (I do use an eyelid primer, so results may differ if you don't), so I don't feel the need for any touch ups.

The downside? It takes a little more effort to remove than some other eyeliners.

This particular Eucalyptus shade to me is so festive! When I first saw the name "Eucalyptus" I didn't initially make that link, but as soon as I applied it I definitely felt it. Maybe it's because it's that time of year. Maybe if I first tried this during the summer I'd be saying it is a very summer/tropical type of shade. I actually think that says a lot about it - it's super versatile. It's suitable for daytime, nighttime, summer, winter and anything in between.

Overall, I think that this eyeliner is fantastic. I am a huge fan of it. The shade collection says to me that these are more for people who love colour rather than your generic collection of nudes (there is a black, grey, brown and nude, but not a huge collection of differing shades of grey or brown for example). I already have my eyes firmly set on a few of the other shades, and at the moment they are also an absolute steal on the Yves Rocher UK website (see below)! If you're an eyeliner fan, definitely give these beauties a whirl!

You can purchase the Yves Rocher Botanical Color Eye Pencil for £13.90 (but actually £6.99 at the time of writing - go get them quickly!) each from Yves Rocher.

Whilst you are there, you can also check out the Yves Rocher Temptation Days offers!

What are your thoughts on the Yves Rocher Botanical Color Eye Pencil? Are you a fan of coloured liner?
