Wake Skincare Face Mask review

Hey guys! It’s been a while since I last reviewed Wake Skincare (formerly EyeWake which is the name that brand used when I last reviewed them) but today I have a new product from Wake Skincare to share with you all today; the Wake Skincare Face Mask.

The Wake Skincare Face Mask is a kaolin clay-based face mask that is designed to help with acne and dull skin by detoxing, exfoliating, removing dead skin and unclogging the pores. The goal is to leave the skin smooth and clear with a radiant glow.

The mask is paraben and sulphate free, not tested on animals and is FSC approved.

The Face Mask comes packaged in a white jar that holds 50ml of product. In a bid to reduce plastic waste, the jar is made of glass and can be recycled. The mask itself is a pale, dusky pink in colour and is quite thick and gritty consistency wise as it contains exfoliants.

Usage and Results:

To use, evenly apply the Wake Face Mask onto clean, dry skin and allow it to dry for around 10-15 minutes. After the allotted time, rinse the skin thoroughly with water and pat dry.

The first thing I noticed upon opening the jar was that there wasn’t as much as I expected there to be inside of it. I’m not sure if it was the way that it had just settled inside the jar but it didn’t look full upon opening. Some was stuck on the protective plastic insert but even with that it didn't seem that full.

The Face Mask is really easy to spread across the skin evenly so you can get nice coverage, and after a few moments it begins to really cool the skin. As it dries it doesn’t get too tight or uncomfortable and the cooling sensation isn’t irritating in any way. I found that it took more around the 15 minute mark to be fully dry and ready to remove.

After the time was up, removing the mask took quite a bit of work. I removed the majority of it with my fingers and water before removing the rest with a face cloth and it took me a few minutes to finish the job. However, once I’d patted my skin dry my face felt so soft and my pores looked clear and minimised. My skin was matte yet fresh looking and my skin tone looked more even too. Redness was instantly reduced, not entirely but significantly so. Therefore I would say that the time it took to remove felt worth it for the results.

Because of the results, I would say that the mask is definitely suitable for those with oily skin or redness-prone skin. It's hard to pass judgement on blemishes as I think that takes more time of use to tell for certain, but for if it is good for oil and redness then that's definitely promising.

I really like how this mask makes the skin look and feel, but it isn’t one that you can use when you’re in a hurry. This is the perfect kind of face mask for that pamper session that you need, where you have a bath, get into your dressing gown and slippers with your hair wrapped up in a towel and then you apply this mask whilst you sip on a cup of tea (or a glass of wine, whatever you’re feeling!) and just give yourself a break.

If you’re after a quick skin fix you are probably going to need to look elsewhere, but if you’ve got that half an hour spare then this is a fab face mask to check out for sure.

Product Rating: 8/10
