Lord and Berry 20100 Maxi Matte Crayon Lipstick review

Hey guys! So, I've been away from the blog for a little while, but I am now finally back! Coming back also means that I had to bring a review of something exciting to make up for it, so that's exactly what I'm posting today.

The Lord and Berry 20100 Maxi Matte Crayon Lipstick is a creamy "super power-pigment" crayon-pencil, matte finish lipstick (most of that I assume you managed to gather from the name) that boasts a nourishing formula that promises to be long-lasting and not to dry out the lips.

It comes packaged in a chunky, shiny black pencil with a transparent plastic lid to cover the tip which is great to see the shade inside. The end of the pencil is also the shade of the lipstick inside and I find that it is an accurate representation of the colour (you know that sometimes they aren't).

I received this lipstick in my beautiful October Birchbox (seriously, the box design is sooo pretty, check it out) in the shade Intimacy, which is a dark-pink nude shade, and I have been giving it a thorough test since.

Application and Results:

To apply, simply outline the lips with it and then fill in the rest.

It kind of feels a bit like you're just covering your lips with a pencil lip liner, but it glides on well without too much effort. It does take a bit longer to apply than other lipsticks, but the pay off is so worth it, as we will go into now.

The pigmentation on the Maxi Matte Crayon Lipstick is incredible. This hand swatch below is just one quick stroke on the back of my hand.

Once on the lips, it doesn't dry them out and has an incredibly matte finish. It is easily one of the best matte finishes I've tried so far with a non-liquid lipstick. Here are some lip swatches in slightly different lighting so that you can see how the shade can look in different places.

The longevity of Maxi Matte is also fantastic. Even throughout the day with my excessive tea drinking and snacking (I like snacks, okay) this lipstick still racks up hours of wear. I do top it up a bit later on in the day, but even still it's only slightly and you can pass it off without having to if you didn't want to. So really what I'm saying here is that I topped it up for the sake of it, I'm just not used to longevity this good.

As for the shade, this kind of shade is perfect for autumn/winter, so if you love your dark-pinky-nude shades, you should certainly try this.

The downside of this product for me though is the availability. When searching for this lipstick online it does seem difficult to find it in any other shade except for this one. With that said, I did find a duo set on ASOS that has two different shades if this one isn't your cup of tea, but other than the shade featured in this post I am struggling to find any other options shade wise.

Is this one of my favourite lipsticks? Absolutely! It's great! I'm loving it a lot and it definitely gets a recommendation from me if you are looking for a new matte lipstick to try out. I just really wish that it was easier to find in different colours. I'd love to try out a couple more, and I'm sure that this shade won't necessarily be to everyones taste.

If this one is to your taste though, you can purchase the Lord and Berry 20100 Maxi Matte Crayon Lipstick from Birchbox.

What are your thoughts on the Lord and Berry 20100 Maxi Matte Crayon Lipstick? What's your favourite matte lipstick?
