Top Reviewed and Recommended Beauty Products

- This post features some products that were gifted and some which were bought. I will mark each gifted product with a gifted tag. It also features affiliate links and to other posts with affiliate links. -

Hi guys! I thought I’d do something a little different this week as I’m feeling a bit physically run down and wanted to write something nice and positive. So, I’ve decided to look back at some of my old posts and talk about which products are my favourites, still use, any changed thoughts and any other posts I’d love for you to read.

I’m going to look back at what I think is one of the best lipsticks of all time, a fab supplement to battle weak nails, lifeless hair and bad skin, a mascara that gives insane volume and more.

See this as the perfect Sunday evening blog-read-athon post. Get yourself a cup of tea, cuddle up under a blanket and lets get reading!

Polaar Icy Magic Instant Eye Contour Energiser review

No one likes mornings. Well, actually, that's a lie. Some people like mornings, but I'm definitely not one of them. I hate being tired and my eyes always get super puffy and dark circles appear too. If you're like this too, then today's post is for you.

My recent Birchbox provided me with the opportunity to try out the Polaar Icy Magic Instant Eye Contour Energiser eye roll on which promises to help you look instantly rested and refreshed. In addition, it also helps to stimulate eyelash growth, claiming to provide at least 30% added natural volume of the eyelashes after 15 days of daily use. The cooling roller ball applicator is designed to help to drain the eye contour area and reduce puffiness, the look of tired eyes and dark circles.

I was really excited as the previous two Polaar products I've tried out have been fab (see my review of the Polaar Polar Night Cream).

As a side note, if you landed on this page from looking up reviews of the September Birchbox samples, I do have a couple of in depth reviews on the Dr.PAWPAW balms that were also featured in this box.

The Icy Magic eye roll on that I have comes in a metallic silver squeeze tube with a rollerball applicator and it holds 10ml of product. I looked it up on the Polaar website and the packaging for the sellable product appears to be different, but it states that it also holds 10ml of product. To make matters more confusing, when you view the product on the Birchbox website, the packaging is different again (but still holds 10ml). Therefore, I'm not 100% sure on which is the correct packaging, but the consensus between all of the designs seems to be that you will receive 10ml. If anyone can confirm or correct me on this, please do let me know!

Polaar Polar Night Cream (Creme Nuit Polaire) review

If you're a regular reader of the blog, you'll more than likely know that I'm a big Birchbox fan. The March box was pretty decent and I have already reviewed the great Arrow Boost Colour Enhancing Lip Balm recently which a lot of you have loved.

Polaar Polar Night Cream (Creme Nuit Polaire)

Well today I'm reviewing another product that arrived in my March Birchbox. This one is a night cream from Polaar called Polar Night Cream (or Creme Nuit Polaire in French). It is created to regenerate your skin as you sleep.

It contains Rhodimenia Borealia (boreal algae) that reacts to the light of the moon to leave your skin refreshed, revitalised and radiant by morning.  It also says that night after night, your skin will be "recharged with oxygen". I'm not 100% what that is supposed to mean exactly, but we'll go with it!

In addition, it also includes phytomelatonin, a vegetal enzyme that is similar to the hormone melatonin that is released by the brain overnight. This then "activates the biological mechanisms responsible for nightly cellular regeneration".

It is also free of parabens, mineral-oils and alcohol.

The size that I received in my box is the small, 25ml squeezey tube (which in parts is sort of holographic and very pretty), but the full size comes in a screw cap jar that holds a nice 100ml of cream.

The jar itself is also very beautiful. It is white with dark blue writing and stars around it (see it here).

The cream is quite thick and bright white. It also has a light, powdery fragrance to it that is fresh yet relaxing.
