Liebster Award nomination!

I have been nominated for a Liebster award! I was actually nominated twice, but as I was already in the middle of answering questions from my first nomination from Silk and Boots I decided to include those answers in this post. However, I also want to give a shout out to Ally's World for my second nomination! Please check both of them out!

Now, if you aren't aware of what the Liebster award is, it is a way for you beautiful readers to discover new bloggers. Think of it a bit like a tag. Somebody nominates you for the award and provides eleven questions for you to answer. You need to answer the questions on your blog so new readers can learn a bit about you!

When you have answered the questions you need to nominate bloggers to do the same. For more info on the 'rules' of the Liebster award, check out this post by Wording Well.

Now, here are the questions from Silk and Boots along with my answers!

1. What motivated you to start your blog?

Before I became a mum I admittedly took far too long at getting ready in the mornings.

I have oily, blemish prone skin and I have spent years looking for that perfect product combo to cure and disguise all of my issues once and for all! Through my experimenting, my routine has gone through a whole bunch of re-jigging. New face products, makeup to provide the best coverage without making me a) look like a Victoria sponge, or b) break out worse than before. Insecurity in whether or not I have managed to 'fix' things turned my routine into this long-winded process every day. When I became a mum I simply didn't have the time or rank on the list of priorities to spend time doing these things anymore, so I have had to let go of certain insecurities and narrow everything down and now I'm feeling so much more relaxed and happy about everything! With that said, I still think that it is super important for parents to have their own thing to do that isn't related to your family life (when you find the time, of course! Children always come first!). Parenting can become stressful and I think you are a far better parent when you make time to do the things you enjoy still because it de-stresses you.

Experimenting with beauty products is my thing. I especially love smelling perfume and picking out the different notes and painting my nails. It's the little things that can have a huge effect on your mood. Finding that balance is the key.

I've been reading beauty blogs for years but I have never come across anything that discusses the best products to use for all situations that can be used in a hurry. I decided to start my blog to discuss my thoughts on the products that I try so other people in similar situations can decide if they would like to try them themselves. I still review all types of beauty products but I just include sections to also discuss how much time it will really add to your routine.

2. What's your biggest surprise come from blogging?

How I have been welcomed into the blogger community! I never realised how tight knit the community is and never expected to be so comfortable within it so quickly.

3. What's in your make up bag that you can't live without?

Any kind of foundation (I currently use Clinique’s Anti-Blemish) and concealer (Benefit’s Lemon Aid for colour correction and currently Vichy’s Dermablend for camouflage, but I’m on the hunt for a high-coverage, non-caking concealer).

4. What's your signature look?

Laid back and simple is usually how I keep things, but now we have entered spring I love adding a little ‘pop’ of colour. I’m currently in love with using Benefit’s Posie Tint or Cha Cha Tint to add that ‘pop’ on both my cheeks and lips in no time. I also won’t go out without a spritz of perfume. I choose my perfume based on my outfit and mood to add the final touch!

5. If you could travel anywhere in the world where would it be?

Morocco, Japan or the Caribbean.

6. Who would your three choices be, dead or alive, non/famous people to have for a dinner party?

Mark Webber, former F1 racing driver and current driver for Porsche, Stephen Hawking and my Gran who sadly passed away before I was born, meaning that I never got to meet her.

7. What's your favourite tv programme?

Red Dwarf!

8. Apart from blogging what else do you like to do in you spare time?

Spending time with my family and friends, shopping, film making (I have a degree in TV Production), photography and reading.

9. What blogs are you recommending at the moment as good reads?

I love All Lacquered Up, Temptalia and Zoella.

10.What social networks are you on?

Blogger, Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Instagram, Bloglovin' and tumblr.

11. What makes your blog different to others?

I guess I answered this in question 1! I like to include my observations on how much time a product will add to your routine alongside my overall review.

Now that you have read my answers, here are the bloggers that I am nominating:

Vero - Veronique
Eve - Eve Gagnon
Karishma - Beneath the Brush

And here are my questions for you:

1. Why did you start blogging?

2. What is your favourite type of perfume?

3. What is your favourite brand and why?

4. How long do you really take to get ready in the mornings?

5. What is your favourite film?

6. How do you plan your blog posts?

7. Would you rather lose your ability to talk or your ability to read?

8. How would you describe your blog to somebody in person if you only had 5 seconds to tell them?

9. If you were an animal, what animal would you be?

10. What do you think is the best thing about blogging?

11. Where can people find you online?

Thank you for spending the time checking out my Liebster award post!
