The Discovery Club by The Fragrance Shop is a UK based beauty box that is usually made up of five-six perfume samples and one or two aftershave samples (this can vary from box to box).

Included within the box is also an information booklet that provides info on each of the fragrances and also contains money off vouchers for each of the perfumes included if you decide to purchase a full size bottle. You usually receive £5 off each fragrance but occasionally you receive a £10 off voucher!

The Fragrance Shop Discovery Club Spring 2015

It is delivered each quarter and only costs £5 per box, £10 for a 2 box, 6 month subscription or £20 for the year.

The first box of 2015 is the Spring fragrance box and it comes along with a brand new box design. The box is longer and more streamlined than the older boxes and it comes with illustrations on it too.

This Discovery Club box contains a collection of six new female fragrance releases and one mens.

Here is what is included this quarter:

Givenchy Phenomen'Eyes Mascara review

Givenchy’s Phenomen’Eyes Mascara is a cult classic that is designed to lengthen, volumise, curl and define lashes with all-day hold. It has a patented 360 degree brush that allows you to apply the mascara with precision for the perfect, fanned out lash effect.

Givenchy Phenomen'Eyes Mascara

For 2015, Givenchy have decided to re-formulate Phenomen’Eyes with a new “enhanced” formulation. The new formula now contains a triple action polymer that smoothes, coats and curls the lashes, a blend of four waxes and an amino acid coated pure pigment for intense colour. It also comes in a new, sleeker packaging.

Phenomen’Eyes comes in two different types of formulation: classic and waterproof. I have the classic mascara in shade 2 - Deep Brown which I shall be reviewing and swatching for you here.

Top 'flu-safe' beauty products for the snotty days!

So you've got the flu. Everything sucks, but you still need to get through your day. The problem is that putting on makeup seems like a waste because your nose is so red and sore, your eyes are puffy and red, you feel like death and you just simply cannot be bothered. What do you do?

Well, hopefully this post will help out in some way!

As you may have noticed, I haven't posted anything in a while. If you follow me on Twitter, then you may have read that I have been down with the flu. However, instead of sulking about it, I have drawn inspiration from it and have come up with this bizarre theme of a post!

I have decided to write up a list that contains my favourite products to use when I'm bunged up! This list contains products that I find don't irritate a snotty nose, or help to disguise any zombie-esque flu-ness!

So without further ado, here is my list of top 'flu-perfect' beauty products!

Givenchy Hydra Sparkling Velvet Luminescence moisturising cream for normal to combination skin review

Givenchy’s Hydra Sparkling Velvet Luminescence moisturising cream for normal to combination skin (a bit of a mouthful, there!)  is a light, oil-free hydrating moisturiser that features a patented, five-molecule, ’sparkling water’ complex to provide radiant skin. It is part of their Hydra Sparkling skincare range and this particular moisturiser also has a twin that is available for severely dry - dry skin.

On my most recent visit to Debenhams, the lady at the Givenchy stand very kindly provided me with a sample of their Hydra Sparkling moisturiser (I’m not going to keep typing out the full name as I assume that it is just as exhausting reading it over and over as much as it is to type it out repetitively!) and the complimentary night cream (which yes, does come with an equally long name! - Givenchy Hydra Sparkling Night Repair Recovery Moisturising Mask & Cream).

At first I was a little hesitant to test it as anything that claims to provide 'luminescence' is usually a disaster for me. I’m sure that you are aware by now if you are a regular reader, but I have incredibly oily skin. Therefore, this is the type of product that I usually stay away from even though I have the occasional dehydrated skin issue.

Using products to combat oily skin can actually cause dehydration whilst still being like an oil slick. However, a lot of products that combat dehydration usually make oily skin worse, cause breakouts etc. I usually find that this is due to oils that are included that end up clogging up the pores. It's such a nightmare of a problem where products to help a certain issue just make the other issue worse!

When I read the ingredients of this particular cream though, I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was oil-free, so I gave it a go.

Discovery Club by The Fragrance Shop review

Fragrance Shop Discovery Club

Fragrance Shop Discovery Club

When testing a new perfume you really need to be able to try the product on your skin. By doing this, you allow the perfume to mix with your skin chemistry and show you its true fragrance. Simply spraying perfume on a card in a shop will never give you the full picture. Samples are the best way to get a taste of what a perfume has to offer.

The Discovery Club is fantastic because it sends the samples straight to you without you having to hunt them down! Alongside this, they send you the latest releases for each season so you can keep on top of what's new.
